There are still only 2 main Xbox Models that are being actively manufactured. The Pro (former Premium) and the Arcade (Core). All the other models (Elite,Halo3) were limited runs. AFAIK, Sony also will be having 2 models, the 80 Gig Backwards compat, and the 40 gig non Backwards compat.
In the launch material recieved by the store I used to work at, some company was producing software of that type. They had sun in the name. I cant remember though as I no longer work there.

Seems someone is outsourcing these things...they have the ports in the same exact spots, I wonder if thier parts are interchangeable. And the insides are exactly the same. I would assume so, since they are identical on the outside.
If they had not released the console on time, or puched the launch back, we would have heard "Haha M$ is teh SuX0R". They release it on the promised date in limited quantities and they are still evil. I want a 360 because three of my freinds have them. They are an impressive machine. I love the controller so much I am buying a wired version to use on my PC.
What is the big deal, it sucks I have to wait til next year, but, i heard similar lamenting about the PS2. Why does one company get a free ride while the other seems to be incurring the wrath of the gamers?
Shouldn't be a problem. I mean, some of MS's biggest distributions are betas. Like, say, Windows '98 was the beta for Windows '98 SE. Same with '95. Same with NT, 2000, XP. Heck even the Office suites got service packs.
Apples and oranges. OS'es and office suites need to be patched to keep up with the changing hardware. How often does console hardware change? This is an erroneous observation in my opinoin, and just sets out to attack MS, something the/. community loves to do.

6 Wii's have been traded in this week for a new 360. Make of it what you will.

I too had problems with that part. I am afraid of heights and the game renders the feel of being up that high so well, I fell to my death many times.
