You got any references to back any of that evidence up. Sure I've heard it's proof, but I've also seen proof that your evidence is highly incorrect. The argument swings both ways. Creationism makes more logical sense than does evolution, but you do have to believe that there is a God for it to be proven. Either way, they're both theories at best.
My sentiments exactly. If it's not already setup to be used as a phone, it will be soon. The bigger question is will it do a good job or be worth the hassles that come with it?
They'd have to be really cheap then, cus I'd wanna eat one while I play. However, if they had some that wallpaper from the Willy Wanka movie that might work better.
Yeah, we have 5 imacs ranging from the original aqua to the flower power models, a power book, an ibook, and a g3 tower among my family, and the only one of those thats needed fixing from Apple has been the ibook. The other machines are still going strong and have only needed the occasional defrag.
On another note, I'm glad these things are finally out. Hopefully this means the g5 tech is getting tot eh point where laptops may not be too far away.
Well, a game actually, but at the ESPN restraunt in downtown disney they had one their arcade machines crashed on me and stole my money. Stinkin' windows NT.
"Are people really prepared to let insurance companies track their every move to save money on car insurance?"
Yup, as long as it saves 'em money, they'll try anything.
Perhaps they can finally do http://www.exn.ca/mammoth/Cloning.cfmsomething similar with the mammoth? It'll be interesting to see how this technique develops.
How does this compare with other PHP books? To respond to an earlier post, I am perhaps in the minority of/. nerds who don't know PHP nor have significant coding experience to just pick it up. Can anyone recommend a better book than the current subject?
Am I the only one reminded of HHGG where Adams mentions that any civilization who deos the hybernation thing eventually figures out much better methods of travel, and ends up arriving before the hybernators get there. It seems it would be a waste to use this tech for anything significant (that is assuming that this is plausable, but I wouldn't rely on Adams for any practical space policy).
The same sort of behavior applies to people who can't see very well. I am constantly looking around simply because I need to be sure there's not something I should be paying attention to nearby.
"I fear the day of the $100 a month cell phone bill is near." You're a little late on this one. know several people who've gone over that on more than one occasion (myself excluded).
As much as that is probably true, it's still an iPod, and I want an iPod (Though I'm not going to base my education on iPods nor do I think it's a necessity). On the other hand, I'd be really pissed if my school started handing them out because I'm not a freshman...
It doesn't strike me as something that will be very big. Especially with a whopping 5 free minutes a day; what kind of conversation can you possibly have in five minutes that couldn't just be done over IM? I've used iChat's VOIP, but only once in a blue moon; frankly I only use it because someone calls me. I wouldn't think it's worth the $20 phone or $5 a month fee for a number. It's simply not usefull enough to coulgh up the dough for extra hardware or services. It'll most likeley end up being one of those things you show people just to say "hey, look what I can do", and then never use it again.

I don't design for IE nor do I hold it in high priority. Granted I happen to be into compliance and a native Safari user myself, so I might be slightly biased, but frankly I can't stand IE. And since my site still renders fine, I'm not too worried about changing my focus. In the future the needs of the site may change, but IE doesn't make up a large majority of visitors. I think designing for IE is fading, standards are the way to go. One of these days MS might just realize that.

I thought Big Thinkers stopped airing a while ago. I liked that show. Oh well, now it's definitely gone. Now down to 3 interesting shows left.
Safari has a built in google search next to the address bar. Also has the pop-up features you mentioned. IE as always is the only one lacking all the good stuff.
Isn't DK shor for Donkey Kong? I like donkey knog, it's less confusing than trying to explain how one would not know that they knew what Dk stands for.
I would imagine that all the other stuff clubs sports etc. Is their fun. The fact that the rest of society does not care for active life and work, makes those that do care seem like robots. Though there are plenty of workaholics there to.
How exactly is stupidity beneficial except in the case of marketing... and the amusement of others? You can have a lot of fun with those who are "stupid" (I believe they could be smart if they tried...) but in the end, it litterally pains me to watch to stupidity. It's so... stupid.
That's the worst model for progress... ever. Not being broken does not mean it works right, nor does it mean that it is the best way to work. If it ain't broke; it's stable. Now incorporate new features and release a beta.

This is /. we're all nitpickers. Technichal obsessive compulsives who must correct every detail relevent or not.

Because their concept art "is experiencing difficulties at this time."
Seeing as how it is linked to a network and has a monitoring system for vitals, I'd say this may already be, or could easily be done.

What's workahol?
Better yet, how would you keep two device in your pocket and keep them from communicating all the time?
