I just finished watching ANH DVD and though it's not much different than the Special Edition, one new addition gives Lucas +100 points in my book: when the storm trooper hits his head upon entering the command room, there is now a loud "clank!" sound. That had me rolling on the floor!
But you forget how/. mods work:
1) Post any comment with 'Profit!', 'I for one welcome our new ______ overlords', or 'In Soviet Russia, _____ ______'s you!' in it.
2) ????
3) +5 Funny!
Well making laws to say you can't do something means nobody can ever do it (legally). Passing laws that say you CAN do something doesn't force you to do it. Confusing the two is simply an example of how ignorant most conservatives are.
Hey now I know most people outside California pride themselves on bashing it, but have you ever been to Mountain View? It's a very pleasant area of northern Cali.
Have you ever called Tivo tech support? I had 2 units (original and the first replacement) go bad on me, and the first time I was on hold for an hour and a half before I got a hold of someone and the second time for an hour.
I had a friend who worked customer service for the toy company that made those joysticks with the games built in. He said those joysticks accounted for something like 9 out of the 10 calls he received about broken toys. He also gave me several free ones before I got one that worked, and even that broke within 6 months. PS: The ps2 game is going to be $20. RTFA:)
ok fine, but really those are pretty bare minimum computers. memory? well you get 256mb but most apps need between 512 and 1gb today, so thats an extra $300-500. warranty? what 90 days isnt enough? ok $350 extra for a real one then. dont forget that case, $150 for that because our laptops are extra wide.
dont get me wrong, i love apple (i'm posting this from a powerbook), but i'm just saying the poster made a bad comparison, apple got its market share by catering to a specific crowd (yuppie techno-elite) while the main selling point of linux to business is cost.
Apple - Software and hardware that is not only intuitivly easy to use, it is also beautifully designed. And of course they were the ones that jumpstarted the online music craze between iPod and iTunes. Not to mention the hoards of loyal Apple fans.
Real - Software that has always (imo) had a horrible interface, rife with ads slapped anywhere they would fit, and a constant nagging to buy their pro version (ok Apple does this too with Quicktime, but you don't need that for mp3s). Add to that their file formats are constantly changing requiring upgrades, and their encoding has always been sub par.Combined with the fact that they basically stole Apple software and you wonder why people are mad.
The dot com bubble burst was never about online advertisting. It was about suddenly every Joe Schmoe, who normally has to hawk his product on late night info TV can now try and sell it for a fraction of the startup cost. Sounds good to investors, right? Well never mind the fact that everyone tried to do this at the same time, over saturating the market to a point well beyond redundancy. Combine that with the fact that most of these guys went from working at the gas n go to running a company that had millions in funding. I bet they have great business sense.
The nail in the coffin was the web sites that managed to sell absolutly nothing, not even ad space, just some sort of internet 'service', which was nothing more than some schisters taking investors who were clueless about the web and internet for a ride because they used all the right buzz words.
Advertising in general will always be a successful revenue generator, albiet not the kind that can make a company billions when it limits itself to one market(internet), but as others here have pointed out, that isn't Google's only source of cash by a long shot.
If you wanna talk bad Mel Brooks how can you leave out "Dracula: Dead and Loving It"? That's the bottom of the barrel
My 23" Cinema Display has zero problems. My 15" Powerbook works great as well, both separate and when used attached to the CD. Go Apple!
Make an eye patch out of it that has video of an eye, programmed to follow the motions of your other eye.

Well duh, what else are you going to point the Mail Exchange records to?

Could HP+SUSE go the way of Apple+BSD and become an option for those that want friendly non-windows laptop?
You mean charging $3000+ for a machine will get Linux market penetration? And who said theres no money in OSS!
How about a board of, say, 100,000 multicolor leds. One for each port, open or closed. Turn it on, watch the show!
Sorry but i disagree, theres no way I'm going to start calling my router a 'Rooter'. Sounds Canadian to me.
I would totally buy GooglePops. I'm not joking.
Dear Hotmail Users,
I don't know what you're complaining about, 640k should be enough for anybody.
Sincerely,
William H. Gates

839017 - Help and Support causes Windows XP to stop responding
This is not actually an OS fix but rather cleaning house in the tech support dept.
I think he may be too late on this one, as a far superior Quest has already been released.
I'd oppose the Fair Trade Commission too. I mean, good god look at their web page! What's fair about using a lens flair in your logo?
