  1. How long would it take to remove all the comments? on Why MS is Not Opening More Source Code · · Score: 1

I don't think it would be hard at all just to remove all the comments, you could even automate it. For them to give that as a reason makes you wonder.

  2. Why only computers? on National PC Recycling Plan Proposed, Again · · Score: 3, Insightful

Wouldn't it be more efficiant to come up with a nationwide recycling program for as many products as possible? Or at least extend this to all electronics such as TVs, Radios, etc.

  5. Population Issues are Serious on No More Players for World of Warcraft - For Now · · Score: 1

A MMORPG was just canceled (Dragon Empires I believe) because during testing they discovered there code could only support around 500 maximum players on a server. Rather then do a complete rewrite they canceled the whole project. If there was any hint of population issues in WoW the game should have been held back until they were solved. I bet anything the developers knew there was (especially after having hundreds of thousands of beta testers), but thought they could fix them shortly after release.

Well they bet wrong and have probably worked 24 hours a day since release trying to solve them. Let's get real people, WoW was released almost 2 months ago. If the developers are still trying to fix the population issues there is a serious flaw in the way WoW was built.

  6. Re:Didn't you get Time Extensions? on No More Players for World of Warcraft - For Now · · Score: 1

They are not going to give you a time extension simply because you don't want to play anymore until they fix the problem. If I had purchased 6 months worth of gametime and the game had been unplayable for the past two weeks I would be demanding my money back for the time and the box.

  10. 2005 - The Year the MMORPG Bubble Bursts on Wish Cancelled · · Score: 3, Insightful

There are dozens of MMORPG titles being developed right now, but hardly any players to play them. With the recent releases of World of Warcraft and Everquest II the market has become even more competative. I am betting this will be the year we will see a massive cancelation in MMORPG development. Wish going down not even 10 days into the new year is a bad omen for developers.

This thing is so powerful it will be able to get you through the wall. I can't wait until we see what other applications this "wireless through wall" technology will be put to.

  13. Re:What's the point? on Rumored iPod Flash Leaked · · Score: 1

Devils Advocate: Tivo is having the opposite problem right now. Everyone refers to their hard drive TV program recording device as a Tivo. People are hard pressed to identify what a Tivo looks like. Having your name become the nick-name of a general product is not always a good thing. Luckly Apple has a certain style to backup their product, so name alone isn't the identifying mark.

There is also no catagory for "illegal" applications in any country I know of. So even if it is prevented from being released someone will leak it and lots of people will use it.
