Wouldn't it be more efficiant to come up with a nationwide recycling program for as many products as possible? Or at least extend this to all electronics such as TVs, Radios, etc.
Yeah, because the certainly can't cross-check credit card transactions or if you use one of those store savings cards. Wow, they are going to know the make-up of your fingerprint.
A MMORPG was just canceled (Dragon Empires I believe) because during testing they discovered there code could only support around 500 maximum players on a server. Rather then do a complete rewrite they canceled the whole project. If there was any hint of population issues in WoW the game should have been held back until they were solved. I bet anything the developers knew there was (especially after having hundreds of thousands of beta testers), but thought they could fix them shortly after release.
Well they bet wrong and have probably worked 24 hours a day since release trying to solve them. Let's get real people, WoW was released almost 2 months ago. If the developers are still trying to fix the population issues there is a serious flaw in the way WoW was built.
They are not going to give you a time extension simply because you don't want to play anymore until they fix the problem. If I had purchased 6 months worth of gametime and the game had been unplayable for the past two weeks I would be demanding my money back for the time and the box.
OMG, has Apple lost their mind? Why didn't they annouce all this stuff at the big Macworld Expo 3 days ago? They have really lost their style............
.....that their own web designers didn't know Appleworks was upgraded to iWork. Mac Mini lists Appleworks as included software.
2005 - The Year the MMORPG Bubble Bursts
on
Wish Cancelled
·
· Score: 3, Insightful
There are dozens of MMORPG titles being developed right now, but hardly any players to play them. With the recent releases of World of Warcraft and Everquest II the market has become even more competative. I am betting this will be the year we will see a massive cancelation in MMORPG development. Wish going down not even 10 days into the new year is a bad omen for developers.
The PSP follows suit with a powerful wireless functionality that can work up to 100 feet away, even through walls.
Someone get out the tin foiled hats! This thing is so powerful it will be able to get you through the wall. I can't wait until we see what other applications this "wireless through wall" technology will be put to.
Devils Advocate: Tivo is having the opposite problem right now. Everyone refers to their hard drive TV program recording device as a Tivo. People are hard pressed to identify what a Tivo looks like. Having your name become the nick-name of a general product is not always a good thing. Luckly Apple has a certain style to backup their product, so name alone isn't the identifying mark.
Tied down by who? With programs like Kazaa and the current Bit Torrent running rampent it doesn't look like anyone is going to prevent a new P2P application from being launched.
There is also no catagory for "illegal" applications in any country I know of. So even if it is prevented from being released someone will leak it and lots of people will use it.
If you say the word rape, in any context, in-game it leads to an instant suspension of banning if reported. While I don't quite agree with Ultima's decision I don't think this event held in ATTC2 was acceptable at all.
Thank you! I had no idea there were other browsers out there besides IE. If you didn't tell me all this wonderful information I would have never known about it.
I live in a glass box with no air holes.
Have they enhanced the pop-up blocking feature? More and more pop-ups are slipping through google's toolbar. In 2-3 months it will probably be totally ineffective.
Although this may be a little off-topic: I think google should keep Gmail invitation only, as it is doing with orkut.
I don't see any downsides, that is unless you refuse to communicate with any other person on the internet. But then why would you be using email?
The washington post is reporting Microsoft has confirmed this is indeed part of the Windows source code!

I don't think it would be hard at all just to remove all the comments, you could even automate it. For them to give that as a reason makes you wonder.

Do you really read all 224 Million results?

People have already reverse engineered it. Beating it is the hard part to get a top spot is the hard part.

Step 1: Buy $10 plot of Land in Canada and stick mailbox on it. Step 2: Apply for credit card. Step 3: Save money in canadaian iTunes store!

Because the slashdot editors would like someone to post a bit torrent for them. They don't have enough time or friends to find the link.
A big thank you to the editors for posting this story front page! I mean could they have been anymore stupid?

If I collected 5121 computers (486s) and connected them all together I would have the largest supercomputer in the world?
How about we can the spam first and then work on other problems? The government isn't exactly known for handling multiple issues at once.
