    With a knick-knack paddy-whack...

Oh wait, that's the wrong song.

So Barney, who has spent his entire career putting new words to very old songs, is suing someone for parodying his work? That would be like Puff Daddy suing over someone parodying "I'll be Missing You." (And yes I realize that the big purple dinosaur is not really doing the suing but it's more amusing to think of it that way.)

What job were you applying for? Has it occured to you that you may be overqualified for the position if you're probably interviewing along with kids fresh from school? I've done many an interview and had to turn down plenty of overqualified candidates. Given their interests and abilities, they would've grown bored with the work we required of them very quickly even though they may be better at doing it in the short term. If they're gearing the interviews towards new grads, maybe that's for a reason.

I'd much rather know about my child attempting burnouts or racing some other car than I care if they go 10MPH over on the Interstate. And I for one would be willing to subject myself to the same device (or even a speed-based device). I believe firmly in leading by example.

I use emacs and still prefer the left-of-A Control key. You are correct that with bottom-left-corner you can line up your fingers nicely but you have to move your palm away from the keyboard to do it. I think it depends. Squad vs. squad trying to secure the same goal would work out as long as it doesn't get too crowded (50 squads trying to assasinate the same person) but I think a deathmatch-type scenario would get old really quick. Personally, I think a co-op has a lot more potential and I guess in that case you could be using different squads. What I would hate to see is too many agents running around with noone to persuade or assasinate. That would be like taking the worst parts of Diablo and the worst parts of Quake III and putting them together.

No, it's not clear at all. The only thing that is clear is that the games Nintendo creates themselves will not have a subscription fee for online play. And to counter your sibling poster, "hidden fees and costs" are only hidden if not disclosed. It would be very easy for EA Sports for example to release a Madden 07 that charges a monthly fee for online play but clearly states this in the packaging. It would violate nothing stated in the article and still be a fee for online play.

The big difference between eBay and YouTube is how it is used. You go to eBay and bid on items. The more items available, the more likely you are to go there. eBay has built a community. YouTube does have a community but its biggest boon comes from embedding videos into other pages, especially blogs. That can be easily replaced wholesale by similar technology and not many people would notice. Right now YouTube (much like GMail) offers a feature set at a price point that is not offered by many other providers. When (or perhaps if) other providers do catch up, it will be a lot harder for YouTube to stay on top than it was for eBay to stay on top.

That's like saying video game consoles are a convergence of controllers and cartridge slots or that a car is the convergence of wheels and an engine. Just listing two parts of a whole is not convergence. They're both needed to serve one purpose.

"And yes, having a CD/radio alarm clock does replace the need of having a cd player, a radio, an alarm, and a clock on my night stand."

Do you use the radio or CD functions on the alarm clock on your nightstand for anything other than alarm noise? I sure don't. The stereo in my living room is much better for that sort of thing.

"Why would Dell sell Mitsubishi TVs when they have their own brand?"

Dell doesn't really have their own brand as much as they just rebadge other people's stuff. I don't know about home use, but for business use the Dell-badged periphrial products have a guarantee to be stocked for x years (4 maybe?). If you'd bother to look at the Dell page, you'd also notice that they stock NEC, LG, Philips, and others as far as monitors go. I didn't check out the TVs. They even give you the option to sort by brand on their website. From what the rep tells me, unlike store-brand generics in clothing, grocery, etc., Dell really doesn't make any more money off of selling a rebadged "Dell" brand item over most of their name brand stuff simply because they have so little to do with the actual manufacturing of Dell branded periphrials.
