I think the defensible line should be products that are produced while adhering to international operational health , safety and welfare rules along with environmental laws. If national labour laws allow a cheaper wage that offsets the shipping etc then it is economically better to manuf. Companies that shift to manuf elsewhere because of lax standards should be penalised . fcuk em
I was in China for a while in 2007 and while I could search TPB I could not download the.torrent as it would just time out - similar to normal golden shield blocking
this was simply solved by putting the D/L url into my overseas proxy and from there the torrent client worked normally.
won't be long before the cameras will all be connected to each other with WDS ( Wireless Distribution System ) with STP ( spanning Tree Protocol ) to stop broadcast storms.
This Story came about after the Queensland police contacted all the people who had made international transactions via Australian banks to Nigeria.
Not much effort really
Though you would think the banks should point their customers to websites detailing scams of Nigerian origin and check to see if they really wanted to transfer money.

Buckets of them ?
Good for you for being honest about it mate - I am sure there are a few other /.ers who were also compromised.
are you able to tell us the user and password and port that was compromised so we can make a judgment on how bruteforced it was .
if it is a password you use elsewhere ( ./ acc :D ) , I can understand if you won't want it published.
my internet facing router (tomato) accepts connections on port 1194
ok - google asus update
android on the Axim http://axdroid.blogspot.com/
my Axim is still in use every day - it is only the battery that is letting it down
Dell just needs to spec some good hardware again and let android developers make it "sexy"
I would not be asking those that fcukup to fix the problem
but if you have the names , you know who to give a broom and tell them to go and sweep out the corner
do you know more about this story that you are not telling us ?

how many fingers do they call "multi-touch"
I think I will patent using 4 fingers and my cock as an interface - or have they got prior art to wanking
I use UBCD4win on a USB stick as most comps will boot from USB - a CD only for ones that don't
with it on the USB you just run the updaters in the plugins of the tools you use and not worry about burning a new CD every time
I always have used
start -> run -> gpedit.msc
admin templates -> system -> turn off autoplay
enabled - turn off autoplay on all drives - apply
maybe adblock and noscript should have been mentioned in the article as I saw none of what you mention.
why does Australia have the " National Broadband Network "
and the USofA has the "Universal Broadband Network" ?
or will it be owned by a hollywood studio ??
these spin doctors need a good kick in the nuts - a polished turd is still a turd , no matter what moniker it has been given.
er - did they examine the mouths of the toothbrush users ?
:D
the term " speaker of shit " might yet be correct .

I think it should be Bill Gates :)

wireless IP cameras are already here
I've even used Wifi cameras connected to 54GL APs with tomato setup as AP+WDS , so only 1 cat6 from 1 AP back to the main switch.
these cameras are running embedded linux at the moment , streaming D1 MPEG4 - will be switching to eCos http://ecos.sourceware.org/about.html soon.
won't be long before the cameras will all be connected to each other with WDS ( Wireless Distribution System ) with STP ( spanning Tree Protocol ) to stop broadcast storms.

been eyeing one off for a multimedia machine - but cannot justify the price at the moment , though that should decrease over time.
start --> run --> gpedit.msc
... enable
admin templates --> system --> turn off autoplay
though if you doubleclick on the drive letter in "my computer" you will run the autorun.inf on the drive - so untrusted drives , explore first.
you're using windows ME ? - and posting about it on Slashdot.
Does windows ME support USB ?
