yes - that windows thing
every single Plant Control System that I have used for the past 10 years runs on top of Windows.
The PCS will be separated from the inter/intranet via a hardware firewall.
when I was working in china last year I just ran phproxy on a website and connected through that.
I have since moved to running phproxy through ssl as this also allows me to bypass netnanny software like webmarshall on the company servers.( not sure why slashdot is blocked by webmarshall )
I have a nokia 6110 navigator with built in GPS - it came with tomtom but its maps were pretty crap for Thailand. I installed nokia maps from smart2go and they are much better , they even have some roads marked for me in the back of beyond Laos where I am now.
what I would like is a symbian app to allow me to use my phones gps as a bluetooth gps to connect to my handheld ( axim x50v )or laptop .
there seem to be a few symbian apps around that allow me to use my phone as a data logger and then allow me to export the file into google earth and view my route - cool
Bah.
The only time in my life I have shopped at walmart was once in Guiyang, China - ( they had western scotch )
Cheap Chinese labour for the products , and cheap Chinese labour for the staff... does that make me "double evil" ?
I just finished working in china and had quite a few laptops brought to me with problems brought about by trojans and virus' .
the thing I noticed was many of the issues were Chinese made for Chinese systems as many of the processes when searched for in Google had no English language results , only Chinese.
I believe the main attack vectors are through IE and the official tencent QQ chat client , and the worrying thing was the last 2 laptops had rootkits installed which seemed to be a recent trend.
expect to see a lot of Chinese botnets in the future as computer uptake increases.
the English page is accessable - else I am in some sort of alternate universe and not sitting in the mountains of central southern china at this very moment.
though if you are buying in bulk and can book your usage ahead of time you are normally entitled to some sort of discount.
but if there was gas available maybe google should be told to acquire a couple of 15 Meg Gas Turbines and sell any excess back to the state grid.
I thought GPS's were to be embeded into mobile phones for security reasons in the USofA.
from there is would be and easy task to have some software to metadata the GPS info into any photos that the camera takes. Then MMS/GPRS the photos you wish to share to where ever.
How long would it work from China through the great firewall or say Thailand through TRUE's Bluecoat proxy ? once pptp.relakks.com is blocked whats the next step.
Can it be made to run from a flash mem stick - or are you required to have admin rights on the machine you wish to use ?
is a method for the separation of mixtures. Flotation is a separation technique used widely in the minerals industry, for paper, de-inking, and water treatment amongst others. It can also be used in the food and coal industries. The technique relies upon differences in the surface properties of different particles to separate them. The particles that are to be floated are rendered hydrophobic by the addition of the appropriate chemicals. Air is then bubbled through the mixture and the desired particles become attached to the small air bubbles and move to the surface where they accumulate as a froth and are collected, or if the non-desired particles float to the surface they are collected and discarded. The flotation process was developed on a commercial scale early in the 20th century at Broken Hill in Australia and is widely used for processing of sulphide minerals (copper, lead, zinc, nickel, cobalt etc...).
The anecdotal story I heard was the chief metalurgists wife was washing his work clothes and commented on the shiny qualities of the bubbles.
once it's on teh intarwebs
too fcuking late
exactly.
the real story probably goes like this
Bloke picked up a hooker in Shanghai
she stole his phone
end of story - happens in every fcuking city on the planet , every night
let that be a lesson grasshopper
it makes us wish he was not conceived
erm .... or Human
or a windscreen wiper on your monitor - maybe little spray jets
would be useful now for those that yell flinging forth spittle
Myanmar has gas and oil - and China will be the main recipient
or the sniffer dogs are set off at the airport etc

will help to add meta data to all those mpeg4's you have bittorrented or recorded on your DVR
why can't the people who object to this just put themselves on a 'do not clone register'.
