Not in a long while, if I'd have to venture a guess. The precision is too poor yet
But i DO see useful applications for this outside the Wii/Xbox light gaming segment.
If you could do a cross platform hookup, for the TV and the hifi/PC, i would love to be able to control my TV and DVD without the now 4 remotes just in my livingroom.
hell, just the idea of flipping my tv the finger, and seeing it zap away from Fox? I'd pay good $ for that!
imagine walking past your home entertainment center, do a simple (or complex) gesture to flip channel, change the song, etc?
unfortunately, i doubt it.
No one will buy it, like the XP N version a few years back, without MS Media player in it.
OEM's are not going to buy an OS with less features than normal, nor are Joe Q. Public.
Nonetheless, it IS an important thing, as MS have (hopefully) learned that the EU are paying attention, and it is costly to try and 'slip one past them'.
well, that's the point, isn't it?
if we want judges that know tech, and know how to apply the law to tech cases, then we can't really complain if they don't rule like we want it, can we?
If the judge has to rule like the/. community wants it, as a prequisite to being 'accepted' as an tech-savvy judge, then we adopt the same morals and ethics as *AA employs, imho.
Winning is important in a case like this, but if it's done using the adversarys deplorable tactics, it's a hollow victory.
...and running around with the equivalent of a 80286 without math co-processor embedded in your body after a few years, with a 15 pin serial port sticking out somewhere would be cool or efficient?
Sorry, dude, your GFX is busted, i have to crack open your skull to replace it.
I'll stick with lenses or glasses, thankyouverymuch!

i own about a buck and a half of LP's, and several hundred VHS tapes.
Now, by law of the country i reside in, I'm entitled to legally make backups/digital copies for private use, but not download a copy.
I'm sorry, but do you honestly expect me to spend thousands of hours ripping and encoding?
I'd say fair use should enable me to obtain a digital copy of works i have a legal right to use, as i own the physical, original media.
well, in all fairness, all new MMO's are being called 'the WOW-killer' by the gaming-media.
Mythic was fairly quick to say that they didn't see it as that,
but being no. 2 would be fine.
mostly these things strike me as novelties or just impractical.
The iPod/iPhone control could be interesting, but as for not wanting to appear as a lunatic escaped from a Bugs Bunny cartoon (more than now, anyways) it would have to be quite sensitive, with the following difficulties... did i just call 911, or was it a yawn?
the others are even worse at this stage, it requires you to learn new interfaces, (moving blocks on a surface? turn a cube the wrong way, you just killed a server) or the way you interact with it physically implies bad physiognomy, or at least something you would hate working with 8+ hours a day.
My money's on touchscreens as keyboard (olpc v2 style)/surfaces coupled with voice recognition.
I would love a Wiimote style / voice recognition control set for mediacenters, though.
Employers that exploit the Web to snoop into and judge people's personal lives infringe on everyone's privacy, and their actions verge on discrimination.
Unless the employer gains access to non-publicized information, e.g. hacks your computer or somesuch, YOU put the information out there for all to see.
Nobody forced you to do it.

as this becomes common knowledge, and with a little luck, hopefully i'll stop finding goatse pics of my employees...
But, since you seem to be a windows fan, why not try win7 beta?
I tried it, everything worked out of the box, but i'm a *nix person, so eeebuntu went on it again in my case.
Here's a novel thought?
Try parenting!
Check the PG rating, it's even on the package in EU, read up on the game?.
think about it, what would make your kid hate you more, not letting them buying the game, or letting them buy the game, and then take it away after a few minutes?

I still fear the Vogon construction fleet more...
now get that planet off my lawn!
You read the article, AND researched the game?
You ARE new here!
just to insert the missing car analogy:
would you lend your car to all that asks?
But, as several others have remarked, your fav'rite *nux distro, with a locked down guest account is the way to go.
But will it run on my netbook?

Monster cables, dude, Monster cables...
(One continuing gripe, though: the Mahjongg tiles still look like they're straight outta 1990.)
One gripe with your post; You owe me a keyboard, ½ can of RedBull went into it when i read the above.
Reading TFA, it's not really 350$, as they already had the projector and the PC.
It's an impressive build nonetheless.

and since this is a US law, it doesn't apply in those countries anyhoot.
much easier to just squeeze every last penny out of fringe franchises, and blame everyone else for the failure of your primary business model.
