So you would support them installing cameras in your bathroom to ensure you're not doing drugs or molesting kids in there, right? It's to weed out the bad guys after all.
Unless you're looking to kill someone by pressing a button, of course.

What is "literature"? Most people agree that Tom Sawyer is "literature". But what about Harry Potter? Eragon? They all rely "on words and words alone."
The worst part is that only one or two types of bots ever got anywhere. There were some very imaginative and cool designs, but none that could compete with a simple wedge.
Maybe he meant a "Disturbance in the Force" as planets four thousand light years away from us are wiped out. Force Disturbances, as I understand it, travel at subspace speeds at least.
I still have my 15" Trinitron CRT monitor. But I recently upgraded my computer and suddenly noticed that refresh rates above 60Hz all appear to be slightly out of focus. Don't know if its the fault of the 8800GT card or what, but I'm finally planning to upgrade to an LCD.
I wouldn't condemn the torture of someone who claims to have hidden a nuclear bomb on a spaceship, much less someone responsible for the deaths of billions of people. Human or robot does not enter into it. Also xenocide against a species that is actively chasing and trying to destroy you seems pretty appropriate. Except then the series would've been over too soon.
The last of the Great Three you mean..... R.I.P.
You forgot to mention that he woke up in a tub full of ice.
If you had broadband, you'd get all that done in 12 hours, tops.

Fine, so the sword will cause you to grow a second torso as well. And another pair of legs for good measure.
They're just as likely to arrest the complainee for "hacking into a google account".

Maybe it's a read-only file server or something.....
Well, if a Catholic dates a Muslim, they'll be on equal footing considering each one believes the other will go to Hell.
Were they working at Fight Club?
Oh yeah! Good ol' C-x M-c M-vectorengine...
Of course I still prefer butterflies.
common sense
Sure, promise people 172 virgins for dying on Mars and you'll have tons of volunteers. Not sure about the "perfectly sane and competent" part.
Setting aside the horsepower, what use is flash video with a connection speed of @10KB/s?
Not at all. Enough smug in the atmosphere might just be able to shield us from the gamma ray burst.

Reminds me of an old joke:
A man has gained an audience with God.
Man: Oh Lord, what is a million years like to you?
God: To me, my son, a million years is but a day.
Man: Oh Lord, what is a million dollars like to you?
God: To me, my son, a million dollars is but a penny.
Man: Oh Lord, would you give me a penny?
God: Tomorrow.
Believe me, spending eternity burning in damnation is better than spending eternity with sanctimonious pious assholes.
Who, and I have it on very good authority, will all be watching The Sound of Music.
May his magic missiles defeat much darkness in the afterlife.
They made it too easy.
Kind of like an operating system doesn't need to know the machine language?
