On this topic, I'm not a big fan of the premade Lego sets for Star Wars or Harry Potter or whatever. Kids need the generic box of bricks and plates.

A few years back LEGO was the best. When the prebuilt sets were more generic. You had stuff like pirates, castle, space, town. The sets were made to be constructed one way, but they could work with other sets however you wanted and rebuilt into other things.
Nowadays all the lego sets have some Liscenss like Star Wars or Harry Potter attached to it. It makes me sad.

When White Wolf released their game Demon the Fallen a small phamplet called Demonic Devilrty came with every shipment. The only way to tell it was fake was the small text W.W.G.S on the front cover. (White Wolf Game Studio)
The website at the link on the back cover is even more spoof of this type of crap.
What's scary is without the few hints that it's a spoof, based on the legit tracts like Dark Dungeon , most would think it was legit.

They all run adaware, spybot and spyware blaster now, along with restricted internet access so it's not as bad but I still have to run it all once a month to re-clean them. I so wish I could move everything to Firefox but the company uses some web based stuff that requires active x so I'm stuck.

X-Men did the same thing in the comic with the "Apocalypse alternate universe". I stopped reading it about then.

But then they did it again with the Ultimates series of comics and those have been a huge success. Sometime creating an alternet world to try new things is better than screwing with the current. The Ultimates series of books works because the normal books are still there and a fan can chose one or the other or both.
Maybe thats what Star Trek needs to do?

Dish network offers dual tuner boxes with two remotes, one IR and one RF. The cable runs into the box once and out twice, You put the box on your big TV's and use the IR remote there. You run the second out to a small tv and us the RF remote that goes thru walls with that one. The box contains two completely seperate tuners so the two TVs can be on different channels.

    What's a ``google browser hijack''?

Yes, thats what I mean. Whenever I would go to google and search for whatever, the resulting page would look almost exactly like Google but was full of crap paid listings instead of the real ones. Oddly enough the address still said www.google.com and if I clicked next at the bottom to go to the next page it would go to the real Google results.

So it was a browser hijack that effected google.

Him: "So does that mean you'll move back to Internet Explorer from Firefox since that was your main reason for switching?"

I switched to Firefox about a month ago, after I picked up a google browser hijack I coulden't get rid of, because it didn't support active X and VBscript the perferred methods of something like 80% of all unauthorized spyware/adware downloads.

The popup blocker was just a really nice extra bonus. When using IE w/ the Google Toolbar there were a few popups that got by now and then, but so far Firefox has been impervious. I am very happy with it.

they are known for how well they treat their artists, and they have been very successful.

And it's always great to see an exception to the norm. A successful label with some big names that doesn't bend their artists over.

Now while I don't think Evanessence is a bad band. Taking what's popular and tacking a female vocalist onto it is not innovation.

For some really great ambient metal with a female vocalist check out The Gathering they've been around for years and every album they add new dynamic elements that makes them that much better.

Well, from the standpoint that you could make a "backup" of a book (hardbound or paperback) it's not as feasible to backup a book, but a CD or DVD you could.

But you could scan a book into Adobe PDF for use on a portable device or burn it to a CD as a backup. While not really feasable for novels, it would be damn handy for archiving Magazine & Newspaper articles and other short publications.
