Back in the day, nerdness was all about radio and other homebrew electronics. That morphed into computers, and here we are. Ownership of radio, teevee, computer, and telecom companies has always been fair game for discussion here.

    >In Michigan a man was arrested for having sex with hios girlfriends dead dog in full view of a preschool, but I don't expect that to be on slashdot either.

We here at the Slashdot Language Police do not use lawsuits for such offenses; we prefer flogging. There is a strong minority opinion that bad anatomical puns should be punished by flaying of the referenced anatomical part. Fortunately for you, the number of Slashdotters able to recognize a pun such as yours playing on rules of spelling and pronunciation is far less than the alleged 1% porn content of the internet, so you're probably safe. This time. You have been warned, however.

On a diplomatic note, how many US Ambassadors actually speak the language of their host country? It might be useful if they had some way to understand the locals.

So, you feel that Sony's spin on this is highly credible? It also seems to me that allegations of price fixing might involve more than one company in an industry, since it would be pretty hard for a single company to fix prices without collusion from their ostensible competitors.

Granted, it probably wouldn't be quite that easy if she doesn't already have a T-Mobile GSM phone, but I'm willing to bet it'll be doable. People already are using Europe-only phones in the US.
