  1. Movie reference alert! on US Ready to put Weapons in Space · · Score: 2, Funny

Um, bad movie where this happens. Under Seige 2 Superman... 3? There are many bad movie references I could make here.. Wasn't this the Star Wars program? Or part of it?

  2. Intelligent on Intel Puts WiFi Back Into Next Gen Chipsets · · Score: 5, Interesting

I hope all the feedback from the slashdotters got back to Intel. It was a misguided and dare I say non-intelligent decision to remove it. Wi-fi is a part of all things now, and Intel needs to stay with the times. While money could be made from a marketing perspective to release one chip, then release another chip with wi-fi. People would buy both, or buy one and then the other.. People are dumb.

  3. Flamebait on Music Downloading not Entirely to Blame · · Score: 2, Interesting

I'll probably get a Flamebait rating for this. But in my opinion (and the opinion of many of my fellow co-workers...) Music just sucks. There are no singers, there are no artists anymore, everyone is sampling the old music and just redoing everything. Talking about the bling, talking about the cash, and talking about "I got 99 problems but uh bitch ain't one". (Nice grammar there Jay-Z!) It's just stupid. The only artists left are Prince, (sits for three or four minutes) can't think of any more right now..

  4. Privledged on Thunderbird 0.9 Released · · Score: 1, Interesting

I know, I felt so overwhelmingly happy that I beat Slashdot to it. On a whim. On a serious note though, I believe that Mozilla is beautiful, and if they can figure out how to get Thunderbird to interface with Exchange. All of us slaves to Outlook will be free!!

  5. Re:Now when will the US government do this? on UK Government Reports Linux is 'Viable' · · Score: 5, Informative

The US Government has stated that Linux is a viable and valuable resource, and although it must be secure (duh), it is encouraged that more OS's besides Microsoft's should be used. Diversity is important. Linux is authorized for use throughout the government, and actually is used alot more than you would think.

  6. While on Doom Movie in Production For Aug 2005 Release · · Score: 1

I would Love to say that I am looking forward to this, however, I am envisioning really stupid 3d graphics. But, I am interested in this one. Although I think it may ruin the game. The dungeons and dragons movie didn't really fair well.

  7. Thoughts on Google Desktop Search Functions As Spyware · · Score: 1

i actually think it's kinda cool, I found stuff on my computer i haven't found in years!

  8. Re:Tin foil hats for everyone!! on Google Desktop Search Functions As Spyware · · Score: 1

The only issue i see with it is that apparently it opens port 4664 listening only to localhost..

    We'll see..

  9. Ports on Google Launches Desktop Search Tool · · Score: 1

Opens port 4664. Wonder what kinda problems this will create...

  10. Don't know on What's The Linux Kernel Worth? · · Score: 1

I wouldn't know what to do with it, but can you "buy" it? It's open source, anyone can change it... What would happen if Microsoft "bought" it. Or bought the rights to it.. Just some what if's.

  11. Discovery? on A New Species Of Giant Ape? · · Score: 0

We discovered this species years ago. In Montana, I believe. We don't call it a primate ape though, I think us Americans call it "B I G F O O T" Just a thought.

  12. Re:An Apple First on Mac OS X Running On Xbox · · Score: 1

Apple did invent a console gaming system (i wanna say back in 97).. it came out and hit bottom directly after.

  13. OSX on Mac OS X Running On Xbox · · Score: -1, Redundant

Now we need all the nerds to get OSX to run on x86 desktops. If we got that to work (APPLE NEEDS TO DO THIS!!), I believe Windows would have a bit more competition. I understand the operating system is coded for their hardware, however, it would be more beneficial to end users if it ran on x86. That's a whole market that apple hasn't explored.

  14. IChat on Instant Messaging Goes Graphical · · Score: 3, Insightful

From a person that uses Apple, Windows, and LInux on a daily basis, I hope that Apple allows Whatever technology they are building into Tiger for the new IChatAV Teleconferencing, they allow to be ported to other OS's.

  15. posted on Mouse May be Replaced by "Nouse" · · Score: 1

I am sure it's already been posted, but what happens if you are reading something? Or have watery eyes? Hay fever? What happens if you are wearing glasses? I think there should be some sort of air type device, where you can just move your hand in front of something and it will move the mouse.. kinda like http://www.fingerworks.com/ Fingerworks. I have an iGesture pad, kinda nice...

  16. analogy on Hurricanes Affecting Spammers? · · Score: 1

So by that analogy, we are saying that most spammers live in Florida? eh... Jeanne's on the way, we'll keep kicking florida's ass with tropical weather, and eventually Mickey and all of the spammers will be washed out to sea.

  17. While I am sure on Spinach May Soon Power Mobile Devices · · Score: -1, Troll

... that this warrants further investigation, really, can we work on a scientific way to end homelessness or something as opposed to using Spinach to power your cell phone.

  18. I think on People on Mars in 30 Years? · · Score: 1

I think it's an unfair assessment to believe that once men get off this planet that we will invite women. j/k. I am of the impression that we are seriously over estimating our capabailities at this point.

  19. Re:Easy solution on Beatles vs Apple · · Score: 1

Troll? This is a funny post!

  20. I think on Universal Emulators Return · · Score: 1

This may be a too good to be true story. Like many other posters, I have my doubts regarding this one. But if it did work, that would be beautiful.

  21. I love it on IETF Decides On SPF / Sender-ID issue · · Score: 5, Insightful

I love it when the world has a moment of clarity and decides that Microsoft has enough damn patents and we're not going to let them run everything. Adopt the open standard that everyone can use. It makes more sense.

  22. Re:Hey Great on Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow · · Score: 2, Insightful

I seem to remember a movie entitled "The Matrix" that was pretty good for it's time.

  23. Re:Does this mean on Internet2 Speed Record Broken · · Score: 1

Stay with me. www.porn.com is a huge site to archive.

  24. Does this mean on Internet2 Speed Record Broken · · Score: 0, Redundant

First of all, that's alot of Mp3's I can "legally" download. Second of all, I can't wait until that "Gigabit-to-the-desktop" comes to the home, My UT2K4 and Doom3 ping rates will be great.

  25. Um on Software For Slackers: Lockout · · Score: 2, Insightful

If you are distracted that much that you must have a program that not only locks you out of the internet, but also locks you out of root, then you seriously need some sort of procrastinators anonymous.
