There may be a better way, but the way I do that is to edit location authentications in httpd.conf (group or user). In TortoiseSVN's documentation they describe how to authenticate to a domain controller, which is what I've set up, and has been working like a charm.

Of course, the big question mark amongst fans has always been whether Lucas would allow the original, unaltered original editions of the trilogy to also be released on DVD. Not possible, said Ward, who confirmed that the upcoming set will feature only the 1997 Special Edition versions of each film. "What George did in 1997," Ward explains, "was [to] make the movie he originally wanted to make."

Although I empathize with your sentiment, you obviously have no clue what your talking about in reference to the actual article submitted(yes, this is slashdot, big shock). The article's comment is a little misleading, this isn't for coding, it's for interface layout, which XML is quite effective at if you've ever touched XUL. XML is heirarchical. As are most, if not all, common GUI components. And separating logic from layout is A Good Thing, which XUL performs more cleanly than most toolkits I've seen (Swing, Windows Forms).

The true measure of the impact of a technology is how many highly effective solutions you can find that it wasn't really intended for. This is one for XML.

And theming can be a very bad thing. I've avoided Winamp3 like the plague just because of the learning curve needed due to the inconsistent layouts between themes.
