    I forgot to include this was the first nix book I read and it helps on every end. And it's online too. Google for FreeBSD handbook.
    Oh and virtual boxen rock. Dupe em and play it the best thing ever. No extra hardware, and you can revert with a click.

    I happen to like and endorse FreeBSD and we use it at my workplace. We run our dev servers using it and it trashes the QA AIX crap on IBM blades vs our wimpy P3 server.
    The right conf makes all the difference in the world. You can have all the hardware beef, but if you allow only 2 db connects, you're screwed. =)

    You should leave it open, and so should everyone else. BT is a swarming protocol, the more people like you who let it run, the faster it will get.
    And when the download has finished, leave it open for a while to help others out.

    Yes, Sunbird is a standalone calendaring application and has "alarms" instead of "reminders" but they do exactly the same thing. I also switched from Outlook to Thunderbird about a year ago, and the only problem I had was getting the HTML eMail exported from Outlook. It would always re-import as plain text, with all the HTML code as text.

    What about the CEOs and chairmen who "pirate" billions of dollars from investors and employees, stealing from the people who made them so rich. These people are a thousand time worse, AND they have a political lobby. Oh wait, I'm sorry, we should pity those CEOs, they don't make nearly enough salary, so they've been forced to steal.

    I can just imagine hundreds of thousands of angry drivers getting speeding tickets in the mail after the RFID sent to the DMV detected they exceeded the speed limit. I prefer to be pulled caught and pulled over the old-fashioned(TM) way thank you.

    Accoring to the USPTO website, there are three types of patents:

    Utility patents may be granted to anyone who invents or discovers any new and useful process, machine, article of manufacture, or compositions of matters, or any new useful improvement thereof;

    Design patents may be granted to anyone who invents a new, original, and ornamental design for an article of manufacture; and

    Plant patents may be granted to anyone who invents or discovers and asexually reproduces any distinct and new variety of plants.

    I fail to see how an extra dot is a new idea, unless it is some wacky new ornament, or maybe the plan to asexually reproduce the dot . .. .... ........ sigh, etc
