In the beginning, ActiveX wasnt supposed to be Platform Dependant. And I guess that kind of makes sense... COM is platform-indepentent. OLE is just a set of COM interfaces that Microsoft uses throughout their operating system and applications. The fact that ActiveX is more or less OLE 2.0 with "Automation" (See IDispatch interface), the reason I think it never made it to it's cross-platform dream was that Microsoft never got around to doing anything with OLE outside of Windows, and no one ever picked up the ball.

I have to completely disagree. Cybersquatting implies you obtained the domain for nothing more then direct profit of reselling that domain.

What do YOU think the fine line is between appropriate use of a domain and inappropriate? As far as I am concerned, as long as you have a legitimate use for it (This doesnt include name fudging and redirection, like britanyspears.com), then it shouldn't be an issue.

For instance, lets say way back when I wanted to register peanutbutterandjelly.com. It could be because I want to make a site dedicated to peanut butter and jelly lovers, with different combinations, brands, stories about peoples love for the food. Currently Hasbro owns this domain (I think in regards to a cartoon). Would they have more of a right to the domain then I? Why? Because them making money from it is more important then my opinion on my favorite food? What if I HATED peanut butter and jelly and dedicated the website to haters all over the world. Does that give THEM more claim to the domain?

Just because you have a use for a domain doesnt mean that you should have exclusive rights to register it and no one else. If you REALLY think it is that important to have that domain name, then REGISTER IT.

    Something easier and more fun...

To make this illustration useful, we will play this out with a simple 6-sided die (Singular dice), some paper, and a pen. Make 3 points, number them 1, 2, and 3 respectively. 1 and 2 indicate point 1, 3 and 4 indicate point 2, and 5 and 6 indicate point 3.

Now roll the die initially, which will indicate a starting point. Now roll it again. Draw a dot between the initial point, and the point indicated by the second roll (This may get you nowhere if its the same point indicated). The dot just drawn is your new starting point. Roll again. Draw a dot between your first drawn dot and the point indicated by your new roll. Do this 1/0 times. The closer you get to infinity, the more clear the sierpinski triangle will be. And while the pen/paper/dice version is fun at first, whipping up a quicky program to do it for you may be faster, easier, and plain more satisfying

Make it so a page cant enter that queue more then say once a week, and you will find that we come up with less and less broken links.

While this might seem like a LOT for google to be doing on the backend, I would have to think that a majority of the public ends up visiting the same 5-10% of the the internet each day (number pulled from my ass, but an educated guess at least).

The only difference between this and Apple with their Macs is there are more 3rd parties involved in this one.
