shouldnt that be your child??? or my/our student??
Stop spouting the Post Anonymously crap, while I dont agree with the good Reverend he is objecting to blogs where the student post a picture, their name and other personal details.
One of Australias banks ANZ just reported a record AU$3billion net profit for the year to date. They layed off 2000 staff this year. So a raise would be nice but how confident can you be in even keeping your job when your company is reporting record profits and laying off record numbers of staff at the same time. IT MAKES ME SICK!
i can picture that House bloke getting around in my colon, and people asking him whay he's so cranky all the time. "I'm a tiny diaogno... diagos...um, doctor, and I work in an ass".
Say you agree to that in a EULA, then the software won't install and you ask for a refund, which the company will not provide. You call the credit card company and say "they sold me a defective product and won't give me my money back" and the card company calls the software maker to see what's up. The software maker says "but the customer agreed not to do a chargeback!" You know what the CC company's gonna do?
In Australia the credit card companies/financial institutions do not call the retailer at all. They process the chargeback and send a letter at the end of the month with the date and time of chargeback and the amount. Then the retailer will/should pick it up when looking through their merchant account statement. Same result though.
I have to agree. Ive never known any other country to even use terms like "Freedom" and "Free" (in reference to their society) anywhere near as much as in the US.. and dont get me started on "freedom fries"... makes me want to spew.
Here in Australia we have zero liability on credit cards. That means if the card is stolen or even if your charged for something you didnt buy and you still have your card, then the bank takes the money back from the retailer and credits you. It can actually be quite simple depending on which finacial institution and in the spirit of crappy customer service who answers the phone when you call said company to report the missuse.
I have heard that in the US you have a 10% limit, eg if someone steals your card to buy $100 worth of goods you get $90 back from the retailer via the card issuer.
So I'm guessing that as the current situation is, security is to a large part down to the retailer.
The same security issues will remain, most credit card fraud is done remotely ie: without the card in hand. So this will always remain, unless the new RFID cards will require you to be present, but with online shopping booming, this would be a step in the wrong direction.
Well, let's separate developers from code monkeys. Now, code monkeys average about $45K. Developers average about $75K. Sure, I pulled that out of my ass, but it's a big ass, what else do you want me to do with it?
I totally agree and am doing the same despite wanting to buy the latest Deep Dish Album. I occasionally download music though via popular P2P client:) and while im at it, i started my boycott when I saw that show Cribs.. i really dont need to be reminded like how im (was) paying way too much for each CD. who needs 5 Hummers, 14 basketball courts and 2 swimming pools to prove they are themuthafukengangsta? wankers!
"CRIKEY MATE, wouldnt want a take a hit from one of those!"
"See what the HIV does is just go, nene ne ne nene ne all about looking for its food. ne nene ne ne nene all day long BANG! fucken huge croc grabs him, drags him under, death roll. CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP end of story."
I dont like defending M$, but at least they have "updates" rather than creating a whole new version like Firefox 1.05. Its about time this was fixed, dont you think?
