Main site has been slashdotted, I was disappointed to not see the pictures. Thanks for the mirror posting guys, looks great but not very practical. More bells and whistles than anything.
Thats cool, I can't wait til we get the wristwatches off the movies with the video conversations over them. I can see it happening with the help of this technology among others.
I don't see the advantage to this as torrents take a long time to download, unless you had a really fast Internet2 or similar connection to leech the files off then you wouldn't find this practical. It's probarbly better to just download on your PC and then FTP it to your MythTV box (or XBOX in my case)
Whats with the RSS part? Who publishes torrent links over RSS anyway?
I'm not sure why this is a -1 Troll, after all Skynet is the computer network from Terminator and this should've been modded Funny due to the article being about quamtum computers.
Look on the bright side, since this comes over bluetooth the person must be near you so just look around for the suspicious bunch of script kiddies then go break their legs with a baseball bat or similar blunt object.
Almost all digital cameras have 2 megapixels these days, it's around about the industry standard, nobody needs any more in my opinion. I have a 2 megapixel camera which cost $300, my dad has a 2 megapixel camera which cost $599, theres really no difference mega-pixel wise, of course for more money your going to get a higher resolution and more features, thats off-topic though. I really don't think there's much difference once you get over 2 megapixels though, of course Digital Photographers (professional ones) would complain beacuse it's not a perfect picture when they look through a microscope at 300x though.
This is very cool, POV-Ray is a great program for making 3D Scenes, maybe 3DS Max is better beacuse of all the filters and plugins and stuff but POV-Ray is awesome for a free program. The source for 3.6 is not out yet but it should be soon, I don't really need the source for it yet however, no problems so far.
NASA know the solar panels would get dusty and that would stop the solar energy, shouldn't they have put some type of cleaning device on there?
Does anyone know if they have released pictures of the Martian winter on their site or to another site or to the press or anything?
The Mars Rover's are really cool and NASA have tried to prevent anything from happening to them, and for once nothing bad has happened.
I find the pictures to be very nice looking, then again you guys may have a different idea of Art to that of mine.
Very Cool

OpenGL in PHP

I suppose if we did some code hacking we could get it to render the OpenGL scene and take a screenshot then save the screenshot as a file. From then on everyone could be sent that screenshot off the page. Sites with Half-Life and Quake2 maps wouldn't have to manually take the screenshots. PHP would be able to do it all for them (if they got a good camera location anyway:P)
The native American's may have internet but they got it through the central American government, can't they afford to pay for it themselves rather than paying a government for internet access...
I don't quite see the point of spending thousands of dollars on a machine that takes five seconds to do a multiplication, surely it'd be faster to do it on paper or in your head?
Is this Sun's take on WHATWG and XAML?
I never really liked Java beacuse it runs so slow in the current virtual machines, with the annoucement that it may go open-source, and if it does, we may see better virtual machines and this technology they are developing now could be very good.
Instead of everyone branching off and making their own standards everyone should try to make these features cross-browser for better support. I don't want to have to use Internet Explorer to do my banking with an app made with the XAML then having to change over to Firefox to check my email using the WHATWG application. I think Applications should stay as programs and web browsers should stay as web browsers. The OS is where applications run, not the browser.
The most important lessons these guys learned from this project are:
* Blue LEDs are strangely attractive to technical people
and
* Sticky-back plastic is cool.
I hope we don't have a Mac style Firefox, Qute works so much better with Windows and I'd hate to see an Apple design on my PC. Chances are it'll be a different default skin for the Windows version, but Qute was awesome. I will miss it.
Apple claimed to make the fastest computer (G5) but it was compared to buisness enterprise CPU's and not overclocked home PCs. I suppose they will say this new G5 is the fastest computer yet again.
How did this guy manage this? Is he a mutated nerd like us who have grown extra fingers due to the radition from our constant computer use? Damn I should've never got that plastic case....
The winner easily deserved to win, the other 2 were way below the level of quality. I did not not like the third one at all and didn't quite understand the second one.
When installing anything Windows tells me to reboot, I just end task the setup.exe and run the program, it still works, Windows is just stupid and looks bullshitting you.
When you install new drivers you have to reboot, go into safe mode, remove the current driver, reboot, get some bullshit about no video drivers, install the new driver, then reboot AGAIN, you've just wasted a shitload of time you'd never had to have used waiting for your computer to reboot if you were running linux.
Windows XP Professional is good, if you leave your computer on for 24/7 (like most people) after awhile your computer starts to lag badly and you need to reboot, OR just deal with a painfully slow OS for about half an hour, then it starts to go normal speed again, I never know why, but its Professional so I take its word for it;);) *nudge* *nudge*
Maybe this is of note beacuse it is a poorer country with less medical support or maybe its beacuse he was born blind.

It's Ironic that one of the Microsoft slogan's is "Where would you like to go today?" yet this uses Linux ;)

Hey I see it now, its a pony! No wait....its a mule....OH I see it now, it's a city. How silly of me!

This is awesome! Now we can put Pikachu's arch rival Tamagochi onto the Pokemon Mini and laugh at Nintendo. Much the same as putting Linux on a Mac ;)
