There is no way this is for real. No way. I mean whoever pitched this idea must be holding their sides wondering how the hell people actually took his joke seriously.
When he leaves for work in the morning, he writes down the time. Same with when he gets to work. He repeats the process in the evening, and when he gets home puts them into his computer along with the date.
I'd say total time per day is about 5 minutes. Thats a small price to pay to have statistical data showing a real decrease in travel time depending on his travel schedule. Also, if you want to argue that your mood/productivity would be better if you had more flexible hours, this is some nice hard data to show your boss...
Who modded this flamebait? He / She stated a fact that (at least in the US) women are traditionally the stay at home parents. The second sentence was a bit of a jab but he / she does bring up a good point. This was probably modded down by some politically correct neo-feminist who hates men but hypocritically uses them to get ahead.
*The only thing I would reccomend for the second incarnation is to get as many "actual" performers to do the songs, or at least the vocals, as possible. It's the only drawback to the original, and would REALLY make the 2nd game so much cooler.
I actually enjoyed the fact that many of the songs were covers, I thought that it made it feel more like you were part of your own cover band, rather than playing one song each for 30 different bands. Either way though I haven't been this excited for a new game in a loooong time.
This guys still alive?
And more importantly, why are we still discussing him like he makes some sort of difference at all? Don't feed the trolls people
The concern is that their misspelling could lead them to a phishing site that looks nearly identical to whatever site they were trying to visit. For example, say they are trying to go to www.bankofamerica.com and accidentally type www.bankoamerica.com, which could be a phishing site. Once they enter their account info they are screwed. This seems like a good idea to combat all the scammers registering typ domain names, although Microsoft is the last one who I trust to implement a fair system.
The fact that we have to "deal with" it is a good thing. We can't ever prove any theory, just continue to mount the evidence as you said. The reason we must leave the door open to dispute is that we may find something that disproves our current theory and be forced to create a new one. For example, if we suddenly discovered an object that disobeyed the theory of gravity, we would have to rewrite and retest a new theory. Or if we found humans with noodly appenages, we might have to change our theory of evolution.
I know you are encouraging people not to jump to conclusions and to see both sides of the issue, but I would like to see some examples of how exactly Bush has helped scientific progress. All I ever see is his administration constantly impeding progress, whether for his personal religious reasons (presenting intelligent design/creationism as an alternative theory with merit equal to the theory of evolution, blocking stem cell research) or pandering to big corporations (drilling for oil in Alaska, the Healthy Forests Initiative, refusing to acknowledge evidence of possible global warming) or any of the other proposals / innovations that the scientific community has found resistance against. I would like to try to keep an open mind that he is not in fact against science, but his actions and the complaints of the scientific community imply otherwise.
I think a lot of these people who are looking for someone to blame mix up cause and effect. I would think it is more likely that they played racing games because they liked racing cars, not the other way around.
My main problem is that LA is throwing the book at TakeTwo like they released the game with sex scenes in it, which they did not. There was no way to get to those scenes without using the third-party mod. You would think that this would not be a big deal - it's a GTA game for christ's sake.
I can't remember the last time that I had spam that contained "informative and motivational messages."
Unless you consider viagra ads motivational, that is;)
Did someone hack Nintendo's website?

Time lost recording the data? Lets see:
When he leaves for work in the morning, he writes down the time. Same with when he gets to work. He repeats the process in the evening, and when he gets home puts them into his computer along with the date.

That's why our next rover will have a circular saw attached to it, a la Battlebots!
This has to be one of the most interesting articles I have read on slashdot in a long time. Kudos!

A better article about the lawsuit

Universal can just tell them to get it off of BitTorrent ... oh wait
You must be new here :-P
Should we incredibly good looking people...
Incredibly good looking people posting on Slashdot?
I call shenanigans!
I'm surprised that Slashdot didn't jump on this when GameSpot covered it... 4 days ago.
Yeah, but we are gonna see it twice!
are gonna see it twice!
They "regret any inconvenience", but no where did they actually apologize.
To me this is a very significant difference.
More jobs for those of us with brains.
who would pay $1.99 to download an episode of 'Lost' from iTunes if the iPod could also hook up to your television and record that same episode free?
The same people who would buy a song off of iTunes for a dollar rather than download it through BitTorrent/some p2p program for free.

It actually surprises me sexcapade isn't in the dictionary. That's been around for a long time.
... oh wait, this is slashdot :P
And what about sexile:(v.) The act of removing ones roommate for the night so that one may be alone with their partner for some sweet sweet lovin'.
Leave hoes and shovels strategically lying around?
