How the hell do people "stumble" into information/pictures that they don't want to see? I go all day every day at work and manage not to bring up a single porn site or questionable image with zero filtering.

Personally I wish that every game was available to be bought online for consoles. I am actually pretty shocked that there are quite a few games that I can't buy online, especially new releases. When the closest game store is at least a half hour away in traffic, I would just rather not buy the game. It also encourages more impulse buying from me. When I end up with some free time and read about an interesting game... I want to play it now. If I can't play it now, I will just find a good book to read, which I can easily find online.
It looks like there are still more studies needed if we really want to understand what is going on here.
The treated bees were about two to three times more likely to die while away from their nests, and the researchers said this was probably because the pesticide interfered with the bees' homing systems, so they couldn't find their way home.
That seems like quite the leap in logic, but I don't have the actual study in front of me. That pesticide harms bees sounds like a REALLY obvious conclusion, I kinda like bees and what they do for us.
Tons of lame excuses in this thread for not accepting the start of a great technology. I have been saying for years that I wish my car could hook up to railroad tracks and autopilot me along them. This system would be so much better. Most of the complaints are from not RTFA. I know, must be new here. The rest of the complaints most humans cannot even deal with. The amount of energy that it would take to be as alert as these sensors 100% of the time would probably kill a normal human or at the very least, the humans senses would quickly degrade.
I think a great start to this would be patches of straight, uncluttered, highway that is designed to handle this type of vehicle. Go from there!

Who asks for that type of information? Tell them they can have it, but it is the same password to all of your financial information and that they will be liable if there is any breach in information. Seriously though, there is no way someone could get a password out of me, to me that is akin to asking my PIN number to my DEBIT card.
I assume this could be used for alerting you for various things. Cell phone on vibrate. Or it could be used for feedback in video games. How about invisible fences for humans? Hikers could use this to be warned of dangerous areas or conditions. Could also be quite the distraction when you are driving.
Or turn a walkway from grippy to slippy at the right moment. How about changing the texture of a glass from grip-able to something smooth and easier to wash? Perhaps this could be used for airflow changes.. maybe a helmet that can alter its skin to allow more or less internal airflow? Sounds like fun!
Seems to work just like DRM. Gives the company a sense of power and usually just inconveniences the average user. The power user probably has very few issues.
I think it also depends on the type of work. If I am doing labor jobs, I have easily worked 70+ hours a week. Working a job that actually makes you think is another matter. If you are so comfortable with your job that you are not really learning anything "new", I could see being able to go beyond this time frame. Working in a job where everyday you are hit with one or more new concepts or ideas could definitely limit your effectiveness. Many studies have been done on how much the brain can handle of new material at a time before becoming fatigued and ineffective.
I really hope when you say that "downloading is a crime" you don't include content that has already been purchased, free content, open-source content, moving content from one place to another, etc...

How much time does posting/reading slashdot account for that 80 hour work week? How about doing other things other than working?
