I am a fan of Sir David Attenborough, whose documentaries for the BBC are simply fantastic. In my community, you can borrow most of them from the local library.
The following is a section from wikipedia, showing his rather sharp response to questions about creationism. It is quite possibly the best answer I have seen regarding the relationship between evolution & creationism.
From Wikipedia:
... Attenborough's documentaries exposed millions to the diversity of life on Earth, including, of course, viewers who subscribe to the belief that all life was directly created by God, known as creationism. In his series, Attenborough rarely explicitly speaks about the mechanisms of evolution. Instead, he describes the advantages of each adaptation in high detail -- why flowers are shaped in a certain way, why birds and animals migrate, how mechanisms of mimicry can serve as protection or to attract insects and animals, and so forth.
As such, his work has been cited by some creationists as exemplary in that it does not "shove evolution down the viewer's throat". Others have written Attenborough letters and asked him to explicitly refer to God as the creator of life. In an interview with the Sydney Morning Herald, he has responded publicly:
"My response is that when Creationists talk about God creating every individual species as a separate act, they always instance hummingbirds, or orchids, sunflowers and beautiful things. But I tend to think instead of a parasitic worm that is boring through the eye of a boy sitting on the bank of a river in West Africa, [a worm] that's going to make him blind. And [I ask them], 'Are you telling me that the God you believe in, who you also say is an all-merciful God, who cares for each one of us individually, are you saying that God created this worm that can live in no other way than in an innocent child's eyeball? Because that doesn't seem to me to coincide with a God who's full of mercy'." [2] (http://www.smh.com.au/articles/2003/03/24/1048354 544138.html?from=storyrhs)
He has explained that he feels the evidence all over the planet clearly shows evolution to be the best way to explain the diversity of life, and that "as far as I'm concerned, if there is a supreme being then He chose organic evolution as a way of bringing into existence the natural world."
I grew up near where Trent Reznor did. It's kind of strange seeing a Reznor heater in my grandpa's barn. I guess Trent's dad runs Reznor Heating & Cooling.. and is somewhat well-known in the rural areas up north of Pittsburgh.
I guess the apple fell really far from the tree.:-)
But of course it's still Beta. A simple test for "Wilmington, DE to Jersey City, NJ" in my case renders a misplaced blue line that I can't quite make sense of. But if that's the only problem...
You should have checked with the city planning office. Your house is about to be demolished to make way for a bypass.
The plans have been available for ages! Look out for the tigers, though!
I don't think that your phone call data goes through the supernode. From what I understand, the supernode is used to facilitate the connection between two clients which are behind NAT or a firewall. After the supernode hooks you up, it is a direct connection between the two clients, without the supernode involved.
driving to the auto parts place to get oil, filters, etc - 20 minutes for the first visit, buy enough for 2 or 3 changes. Do it while you are already out, when you start nearing the next change.
draining oil, removing filter, installing new filter, adding oil - 10 minutes is plenty. As long as you didn't go to the jiffy lube and have superman crank down the filter and oil plug, that is.
Driving halfway across the county to the only place that will take used oil for recycling - I have to admit that let these accumulate in my garage for a while before I take them in. However, almost every gas station in Pennsylvania has to take them.
Washing the clothes that got dirty while working on car - use a creeper and don't let the oil fall on you. It's quite easy to do without spilling any oil on yourself. At most, you might get some on your gloves.
Saving $20 by spending 20 minutes doing it yourself -- Priceless.

20,790.00 JPY Japan Yen = 201.768 USD United States Dollars
They still claim $186. The 20,790 includes tax. How much is tax in JP? The dollar has been falling a lot lately. I wonder how much more of a loss Sony will be taking, or how much they will have to raise the price in the US.
It may have been $186 back in October, but it is getting more expensive every day.
you know, I had the same thing happen after I started using a whirling toothbrush. I started hacking up little balls of plaque. (only in my throat, not my lungs) It took me a few weeks before I connected the two. I only use the whirling toothbrush once a week now, and no more coughing up gross stuff.
Mobile phones are quite popular in some countries.

You also have capillaries. They work even without sweat -- much like a heatsink.
I think that the hard drive was often used for piracy.
They have actually been quite profitable.

I only spend 29% of my time here. ;-)
That's funny. I would much prefer 29% male / 71% female overlords.
But hey, that's just me.
File-sharing software should move to ipv6. Perhaps that would be the kick in the pants the internet needs to go forward.
We actually had both AC units crap out in the same afternoon. Really hot day. :-)
That is, until the AC breaks and all of the servers melt into slag.
Some of it is at least 3 years old. We ripped a large concrete pool out of my grandma's backyard three years ago, but it is still in the picture.
I suppose it all depends on where you are looking.
coredumper: Gives you the ability to dump cores from programs when it was previously not possible.
Gee, I've always been pretty good at that!
Jim Oliver's shorts are waaaay too tight.
Argh! Trolltech to Extend Dual Licensing to Qt for Windows.
I wonder if that is what got this ball rolling:

All of the images are ascii. ZZT is pretty simple, but Megazeux allows for more advanced programs.
It's certainly a fun way to learn!
Wasn't the power out anyway?

Doom added rooms with different heights. You could not have stairs in Wolfenstein 3D.
Doom also added lights and projectiles.
It might seem small by today's standards, but it was a big deal at the time.
