  1. Easy to fool? on Cell Phones Learn to Recognize Their Owners' Faces · · Score: -1

So if I steal the cell phone of some celebrity, all I would have to do is put a easily available picture of that celebrity in front of the camera and voila!, I have access to their phone!!

Now only if we could deliver aid, food, clothes at speeds hundreds of times faster... There's people starving down there and you guys are worried about infrastructure, opportunities for new technology?

I find it funny that no matter what is said on Slashdot, whether its wrong or right (this is in reference to the "Crappy list" back and forth argument), it can be scored "Insightful".

I never knew blatantly incorrect information was insightful.

But I can always count on Slashdot giving my posts a score of -1.

  5. Don't generalize on Improving Education? · · Score: -1

So you're condemning all of public education in one fell swoop? Think twice before you make a statement like that. There are many public schools in this country in suburban areas that are very good, in fact better than their private counterparts.

I agree that many public schools in urban and inner city areas are not that good and are worse than the private schools. But that gives you no right to condemn public education and the many teachers out there that are working very hard (No I'm not a teacher).

  6. Bird-brained on Alex, The Brainy Parrot Who Knows About Zero · · Score: -1

Now if we could only teach birds not to poop on our cars... and instead poop on the neighbor's car. Now that would be news worth hearing. That reminds me, damn, I can't call Pres. Bush bird-brained anymore, this bird knows what zero means. Bush couldn't grasp the concept that there were ZERO weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. Just like he can't grasp the concept that he has ZERO IQ.

When will businesses start realizing that it may be more cost-effective for them to use Firefox instead of inundating the help desk with calls about IE problems?... Has Slashdot done a survey of how many of its members use Firefox vs. IE ?? It would be a good metric to keep visible on the home page, and when Slashdot goes 100% Firefox, we can have a proper funeral for Internet Explorer (recycle bin).

Does anyone besides me think this is cruel and inhumane? At what point do we impart free will to the creatures of this earth? We are constantly trying to gain more and more control instead of realizing that leaving things alone is probably a much better solution.

That and what if that robot cockroach becomes intelligent and decides that roaches should launch a full onslaught on mankind. Think about it.
