clickykeyboardsc.om sells a ps/2 -> usb adapter that you can use, or even more convenient - Radioshack has one also - catalog # 26-723. I'm using both of these right now for two model M's. Cheapo adapters just don't cut it!

You don't even owe them an explanation, it's perfectly ok to set your boundaries as you wish them to be. If after that they still bug you they're not your friends, they're just parasites.
Don't be fooled by diluted western herbalism or new-agy stuff. Ayurveda (and related systems) are very effective and complete systems. Some of the surgical procedures and instruments originated in Ayurveda are still in use today.
The problem is that is instead of being used, it was supressed by the british when they occupied India.
Yes, KDE will be on your current packages list, and the "Update system" (or "Update software", I dont' recall right now). You'll have to have for the respository to include it (don't forget to refresh)

Mandrake 9.2 was my first linux distribution, and I have to say, it was the ONLY distribution that supported everyhting out of the box correctly on my laptop (except wifi, but that was quite easy to install). Stuff that still nowadays takes me a good while to get going on another distribution.
What I really didn't like was Mandrake's logo all over the place, and the rpm installs. Dependencies were a real pain in the ass.
How's the package handling? I prefer downloading it from the net, as opposed to installing from the CDs (that is if they had what I needed on them).
I agree. I once got ahold of 6 PIII from a local law firm (64 ram, 10 gig harddrives). I wiped (military standard) the drives, and combined the hardware into 3 desktop units running debian (128 ram, 2x10 gig drives).
They are all happily being used as email/browsing computers.
It's part of of late 70's-80's stream that wanted to relate quantum physics with the Field (oneness of existence) in estearn mysticism.
Even Fritjof Capra (his book the TOP is very similar) admits this approach was perhaps not totally succesful. Ken Wilber edited a book called "Quantum matters" (or something along these lines) that looks into these issues.
I grew up on Tenerife (I'm not spanish though). The Canarian Islands are truely beautiful. Of the 7 islands, 6 of them have national parks, and there is a good amount of endemic fauna and flora.
I'm sure you'd love la Gomera as well. Very little turism, and really green. Every island has awesome spots, altough you definitly need to get away from the turist cities, and ask some locals to give you directions.
I have some shots of Tenerife here:

I think it would've been ok if this was just a generic site for the general public (oh! pretty lights!), but posting to a thread
with all kinds of "technical" details (check my 1337 skillz) is just plain lying. Not to mention 2003.
So much for the xmas spirit of giving (nice excuse).
FWIW I've got a Packard-Bell iGo 6208 with an ATI mobility card running perfectly.
I've been running *nix flavors exlusivly for over a year, and my card has worked with all of them. I don't play games, but 3D screensavers (that would hitch on some distributions straight out of the box) work perfectly.
How do you think he felt as a chessmaster knowing that all he had been was a pawn
I think he was quite aware of the political implications of it all (not that it mattered to him). His refusing to continue playing was more due his excentric demands (and one could argue mental problems).
but who would really expect that from his chess style?
No, not really no:) Come to think of it... something very similar happened to Alekhine (my fav player). He had a brilliant style (along with a very strong personality and a vodka habit), and was screwed over by the russian goverment when he refused to be a political pawn. Very sad story (I recommend his biography/best games book)
I haven't got any links bookmarked really, I have the stuff on print. After the many hours in front of a screen I rather play on a board.
Google for his championship games againt Boris Spassky.
Besides the political significance of his victories, he just had a kick ass style. Very american I guess: open, agressive, creative. These games were followed all over the world and covered extensivly in the (regular) press.
But as has been mentioned before, he was extremely excentric, refused to defend the title in the rematch, and hasn't played much chess since. To say that he'd get in trouble every time he opened his mouth is not an understatement.

Up until Bobby Fisher Russia had been the reigning chess champion... well forever (with the exception of some european / cuban[!] players the beginning of the century). Not only the fact that he won in a time of political tension, but also played REALLY brilliantly was quite an amazing feat.
He remains one of the greatest players all-time, and his matches against Spassky continue to be studied nowadays by chess aficionados everywhere. It also seems the KGB tried to pull several dirty tricks in order to help Spassky to win, without luck.
If you have an interest in chess, check out some of his games. Amazing style (although I prefer Alekhine:P )
Radioshack sells one for $15.99 - if you have one nearby you'll save on the shipping as well. Catalog # 26-723

How about just telling them what you told us?

Good luck with everything man, hang in there.

Try having 5 or 6 mixed with vodka. Definitly worth the $2.49 :)

As you hopefully eventually might find out, a lot of smart people are unamerican ;)

I would kill for a mp3 player with a CF slot....
Here you go. I want my mother-in-law dead. Make it painful and slow.
Kidding aside, I've had one of these for about 18 months and I'm very happy with it.

That sounds like a really cool idea... now if we added a dupe- & spellchecker... I think your on to something.

I don't own a TV btw... but damn... it's Star Trek man... it's just part of geek culture. No need to ever have seen an episode really.
Is it just me or is the iPod becoming more and more like a Tricorder every day. (The small do-everything-device used in Star Trek)
;)
Dude, no need to explain what a tricorder is around here ok?
You must be new here
Why is it in a strange language?
It's just dutch...

Get out your tinfoil hats
Why?
Doesn't seem like a bad idea to know who's shooting who - don't you think?
