Maybe the opposite can be done - turn the Math/Programming department into a bunch of politicians through gene therapy ? We can call it TedKennedization.
I remain astonished that RealPlayer is still an internet standard. It's no easier to install than Divx or Xvid, requires you to have that stupid 24 gig player, and the quality is easily a step down from the big two. For god's sake, put Real out of its misery !
To all those Slashdot posters who write "If you're not doing anything illegal, you have nothing to worry about!" and "Take off your tinfoil hats, the government would never use the patriot act in such a broad manner" -
Guess what ?
That's the thing people in veteran bands don't realize: they've created their own trap by not challenging themselves on every level. We just found that giving music away through MP3s--we have a big free music service at TMBG.com where you sign up to the mailing list and we send out free MP3s every couple of weeks--has just been a fantastic way to keep people involved in our creative output.
We've been curiously blessed with an audience that was interested in what we're doing in a pretty sincere way. It's hard to say why we endure.
I'm sure this has something to do with Amanda Tapping's pseudo-clothesless role at the end of last week's episode. .... slow down cowboy... yeah, I got it, thanks
Stargate has a huge, insanely loyal following. It deserves it. I didn't discover SG1 until sometime in season 5. Once I got the dvds, I could not stop watching them. SG does such an incredible job of building upon previous storylines, it's like one continuous movie. Some of the episodes, like 'Window of Opportunity' (The time ripple), 'Upgrades' (The super-arm bands), 'Jolinar's memories'/'The Devil you know' (Sokar) are so damn good, and really funny.
In an interview with the writers on the Stargate documentary (the one they aired before season 7 premiered), one of the writers said something to the effect of "Stargate is actually a comedy, we've just managed to keep it a secret for 7 years". It really is funnier than any given sitcom. Whether that reflects greatly on the SG1 staff or just makes the recycled sitcom writers look even worse is up to you.
Reloaded evolved the storyline, people (geeks) complain that it was too convoluted and self-aggrandizing.
Revolutions was a 2 hour war/fight, people complain it didn't evolve the storyline how they wanted.
What DO you want ?
You know, I bet a lot of people bashing reloaded and revolutions actually enjoyed them - it's just the cool thing to hate on the two sequels. Admit it, you just didn't understand what was going on after Neo's chat with the 'father' of the matrix. Yes, the neo/trinity sex scene/rave was stupid. Don't let a lame 10 minute trip ruin the subsequent 3 hours.
I am pretty sure that is a broken table leg in the picture, wrapped in tape. While this may sound dangerous, no tables I own generate long-range electrical shocks.
I'm pretty damn sure that for about 3 minutes, there were 2 "mozilla 0.9" stories within eyeshot of each other. Can you at least check THE FRONT PAGE before posting stories ? yeesh.
Real is an absolute joke. These big-time websites still insist on using it, and the only reason must be because of the damn built-in DRM. I'm sick of watching 320x240 ~500kbps, noisy movies and clips when I'm paying for them. Please, use Divx or xvid, I BEG you.
Later, after astronomers found the universe to be expanding, Einstein called the cosmological constant his greatest blunder. But theorists have been taking a new look at it since 1998, when astronomers found evidence of a repulsive counterpart to gravity in studies of distant exploding stars called supernovae.
Even when he's making stuff up, he's still right... We just don't find out until 80 years later.

last time I checked, monster trucks didn't fall into the "high performance" category.
WASHINGTON -- Some lawmakers are introducing a bill that Hollywood is not happy about -- one that would allow consumers to make personal copies of digital entertainment like DVDs to be played on whatever device they want.
Gee, what a CRAZY idea, that I actually have the right to watch the $24.99 DVD I bought. For whatever reason, Macrovision absolutely owns my TV, even on legally purchased DVDs (the high and low color changes on Futurama were UN-friggin-believable). I already have to rip and re-burn them just to watch them, or use a macro-scrubber. This is a step in the right direction. Maybe someday I'll be able to watch the originals.
Sometimes it's just about hopeless.
I threw together a computer for my girlfriend, who has a Comcast Cable connection. Fully patched, with AVG, Zonealarm, and ad-aware.
There are 6 other people who use the computer.
If I don't maintain it to the point of once-a-week troubleshooting, the next time I stop by, there is more garbage/spyware/viruses/popup junk
than I can possibly understand. Comet Cursor, Weatherbug, Bonzi, that "set your clock" thing, backdoors, and a deluge of popups that will
make your head spin when IE is loaded ( I installed Opera. They don't like it. ). You're probably thinking, if I had correctly installed all the stuff
I said I did, this wouldn't happen, right ?
If only it were that easy.
Zonealarm ? Well, they were having problems with their internet one day, and decided it might be that firewall thing, so off it went. Despite
my insistence, this happens fairly often - because they don't actually see the negative effects of it.
Viruses ? AVG just disappears. Someone must be uninstalling it, because it's usually gone when I go looking for it.
The spyware ? I don't really know where it actually comes from. There's usually a bunch of other junk apps and game demos, I assume that's
how they find their way on to the computer.

I always suspected I was an evil, conniving, warez trading, mp3 album pre-releasing, movie theater recording and distributing bastard from the moment I typed/server irc.dal.net lo those many years ago. Now I know for sure. Time to go kill some puppies and take pictures and post them in #MurderedPuppies.

Your Cut and paste skills, however, are legendary.
Yes... just because we do not put shit in our cars doesn't mean we're driving around in gas-guzzling monster trucks.
In PA, 93 Octane is at $2.23. Those numbers whiz by on the gas pump so fast, it makes me break down in tears every time I fill up.
