I've been waiting for this (specifically a gun controlled from the net) because it won't be long before anything else that can be conveyed via telepresence will fall into place. This is going to lead to a huge bevy of essays on reality and the human experience, kick ass.

BeOS at the time was really impressive on a Mac, especially if you couldn't stomach MacOS... but I ran BeOS @work and NeXTSTEP @home, the choice was readily apparent to people who actually used both systems.

I know some people in the past year have bagged on Child's Play because they didn't see it being altruistic enough or as self serving, but c'mon that they choose to do anything at all is great! By something as simple as coordinating the desires of gamers to occasionally do something nice for someone else a lot of kids are going to have much better holidays and the whole group of gamers end up looking better in the eyes of the public who are constantly flooded with negative images about gamers (OMG DOOM MADE ME KILL MY BROTHER WITH A CHAINSAW AND GRAB RANDOM GIRL TITTIES!@!!!!!!!!).

A conspiracy theory is not a story... there were plenty of other photo angles from that same day that showed a vastly different "story" than IndyMedia posited.

I've dealt firsthand with many of the hacks and idiots involved in Indymedia. They grab on to the coat-tails of any media event or protest they can and then act as extreme as possible to garner press even if it harms the original vision of the event or protest. They are revolting, dishonest and a sad excuse for a "media".

If you wonder where the PBX is heading look at the simple office copying machine. They used to make copies. Now they make copies, colate, autoscale, create PDFs on the fly and then fax the results to someone while storing the PDF somewhere AND emailing a copy to a lit of people. The PBX of next year will integrate even more so than the one's of today in a cheaper, faster way.

Odd or weird problems can be a real PITA to diagnose on your Asterisk setup.

My dialplan (which works all but the analog portion 100% of the time) is that a call comes in -> rings the analog line a few times -> asterisk then picks up and gives the user a menu, from there one can pick my sip client or my girlfriend's or a global that rings the analog line and the sip clients at the same time. In case of no answer voicemail then picks up and fires off an email to us containing the message. Eventually I hope to have it sharing functionality with some friends in different states so we can all have free local dial-ins for family and friends who are scattered.
