    I searched not with that exact phrase but with Sen'nichi, Dokugaku and Ichinich in kanji and found a phrase "Sen'nichi no kangaku yori ichinichi no gakusho", which seems to be the original Japanese proverb.

    Microsoft refuses to provide security patches for free? You are wrong. MS allows unlicensed users to download security patches via Windows Update. What they won't provide for free are additinal upgrades.

    The vulnerability has been confirmed in Finder version 10.3.2 on Mac OS X version 10.3.7. It's rated as 'less critical'.

    Sorry, nobody in Japan has a cel phone with GPS capability. They're all based on triangulation between cel tower locations, not GPS.

    KDDI started the EZ Navi Walk service at the end of October 2003, which uses GPS. Most of 3G phones they released since then support EZ Navi Walk. NTT DoCoMo released two models that supports GPS in 2003 too (they are 2G phones).

    According to Wikpedia it's not 9.0 on the Richter scale, but on the moment magnitude scale.

    The quake was initially reported as 6.8 on the Richter scale. On the moment magnitude scale, which is more accurate for quakes of this size, the earthquake's magnitude was first reported as 8.1 by the United States Geological Survey, but after further analysis they increased this first to 8.5 and 8.9 and finally 9.0.

    Japan IBM already did it.

    Last year, IMB created Thinkpad 20M, special model celebrating its twenty million shipments of Thinkpads. Its development concept is, in contrast to normal Thinkpad, to make bulky, thick Thinkpad with half-day warranty. It's made of nearly 100% natural materials and tastes good.

    I think you missed the point. If a method used to do an illegal act is so simple to have, banning it or creation of it is stupid. You should just ban the act.

    When killing can be achieved with your fists and feet, it's stupid to ban the posession of fists and feet or creation of people who has them (giving birth). Just ban the killing.

    If you have a pre-installed pirate copy of windows, that means you have already agreed EULA, believing you have a legitimate copy of XP in the first place.

    1. You cannot get a refund, you have already agreed EULA.

    2. You are now registered as a legitimate user, as same as who perchesed XP legally.

    What's wrong with it?

    It's phone. You can't expect you can modify
    the communication system arbitrary becasuse its
    compliance to the standard must be officially certificated.

    So what you can do? You can't fix bugs yourself.
    That must be done by the manufacturer. Once
    they abondon the device there is nothing you can do.

    In Japan, most cellphone are 'advanced' model and phones without camera are rare. However, recently Tu-ka announced its release of Tu-ka S (sorry, the article is in Japanese). It only has a cellphone capability. It even doesn't have a display!

    According to the official page, yes.

    They say "You can run Windows 9x, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows XP Embedded, Windows CE, VxWorks, Linux, DOS. We can provide graphics/audio/touchpanel drivers for each OSes."

    I also had installed Windows XP Pro and Norton Anti Virus/Internet Security and updated them via Internet. I din't have any NATs nor other hardware firewalls. I did't have any update CDs at hand either. Howerver, I dit not get infected with worms/viruses. Here is what I did.

    1. Installed Windows XP on the PC, the cable modem disconnected from the network card.
    2. Turned on the Internet Connection Firewall and then connected the cable modem.
    3. Launched Windows Update and installed all security patches.
    4. Installed Norton Anti Virus and Norton Internet Security
    5. Launched the Norton update facility and get them updated.
    6. Turned off the ICF.
    By the way, I did not noticed any recommendation about turning off firewalls while doing Windows Update. Where can I see the info?
