I really don't like the images popping up on certain searches on the main page now. The new functionality really takes away from the clean, minimalist Google feel. At least make it an option to disable it.
Nobody is going to beat Google at the search game unless they can significantly one-up them. Perhaps Microsoft can produce 0.6838% better search results if they really try but who cares? Google is here now and it works just fine. Something a "little better" won't make anyone jump ship. It will take a Altavista->Google size leap for anyone to take notice.
All MS can really do is force MSN as the IE default page and hope the non-technical users stick with it.
As the title suggests. Nothing about PHP templating technology (like Smarty) which can lead to some pretty gnarly PHP code. I'd recommend following this book up with Advanced PHP Programming by George Schlossnagle as it focuses more on PHP.
If internet rumors from people who have played it are correct, the final game falls WAYYYY short of what was promised in Frank O'Connor's weekly updates.
If only Valve released Half-Life 2 09/30/2003 it would have been the exact opposite of what happened with Fable, etc. No hype, just game.
Some faculty have suggested that in acknowledgment of Mr. Gates' profound influence on the computer software industry, the building should be painted bright blue."
I switched back and forth from Firefox to IE during the Pheonix/Fire(bird|fox) betas and I have to say there's zero incentive to use IE at this time. Firefox is just plain leaner and meaner. IE's lack of extensions is just the killer.
Thanks to the Firebird team for keeping at it all this time. I will be the first to admit that I thought it was impossible to dethrone IE when Firebird was announced. Thanks for proving me wrong. Great work guys.
My Xbox is used as an emulation station. I have no desire to play any Xbox games, but I certainly use it for NES, SNES, Genesis, and arcade games.
I wish it had a tad more juice and memory under the hood to handle the more powerful arcade games. Alas 733Mhz and 64MB RAM does not cut it.
If rumors are true, Microsoft is neutering the Xbox 2 by removing the hard disk and backward compatibly in an effort to thwart piracy and "non-standard use" of the console. Well, it was fun while it lasted.

Today Microsoft announced nmake. Instructions free, diagrams only available after signing NDA.
Can't take anything he says without a grain of salt after all the time he spent pimping OS/2 and declaring the "Death of Apple" every other week.

That's steep. I would grab one for $150 unbundled. $250 is too much for a console, much less a handheld.

This tool will undoubtably aid me in countless intarweb arguments. I can now quote verbatim Jack Bauer's dialogue from last night's 24.
Seek to 1:13:25 in the video to watch the Xbox game Forza Motorsport blue screen with an "out of system memory" error.

Slashdot has taken to posting the fake Xbox2 pic of the week now?
Can someone say porn site friendly mode?
