I'm a thinkin you're not talking about NYC here. The law in NYC is that Taxis may pick people up on the street (i.e. flag down a taxi...) and limo services must be called for pickup (a limo driver cannot pick up a fare on the street). Interestingly, when we had the taxi strike a couple years ago, the city authorized the limo services to pick up fares on corners while the taxi drivers were on strike...
My family (on my mothers side) are sephardic jews from Turkey. We've been drinking turkish coffee for quite literally centuries and I grew up on the stuff. While I can enjoy other coffee, nothing is quite like properly prepared turkish coffee.
As a side, I have some truly ancient ibriks in the house that date back several generations to my great-grandmother's exodus from Turkey (and were probably old before then), damn do those things last:-P.
it is actually, had it designed to allow many many machines (only 3 monitors though, KVM switches are quite nice and I need some writing/laptop space). The mark of a geek I guess...:-P
Not always, there are people like myself who are pretty much OS agnostic. For ex: on my desk currently I have machines running Macos 7,8,9, and 10 (OSX), Win98,2k,XP, Debian, Suse, and Gentoo Linux, Free and Open BSD, and Solaris 9.
There are some of us to whom what the machine is running or even it's layout is not really a factor. I would say that our personalities allow for computers in general and not one specific type.
Perhaps after the Fullmetal one arrived in our world, in his quest to reach the stars, he researched various forms of physics. Then published under the name Newton! it would work!!!
As for me, a scientist, I can now say with complete sincerity if Newton is the Fullmetal one then "I for one welcome our new fullmetal overlord!"
While true, IMHO its not worth it to install knoppix anyway. If you want to have it run locally and choose your software, install debian (which knoppix is based on) and pick and choose to your hearts content. Knoppix really isnt intended as a distro for a stationary desktop to be booted to all the time. It was (pre squeaky new debian installer) a good way to install debian a while ago though...
heh, I know a guy who could use this array for just that:-P. There is a guy at my school who shares on our DirectConnect network 650GBs of porn. A few friends of mine and I once calculated that at standard dvd --> divx codec compression it was somewhere around 4 years of porn...
It's not just that, I've used a hotmail account (the same one) for ~10 or 11 years (maybe more, can't remem right now). This dates back btw to before M$ owned hotmail. Its very hard for me to simply abandon hotmail now.
For ex. I just recieved an email from a friend who I lost touch with about 4 years ago. She was able to get back in contact with me because I had not changed my email. Yes I have other accounts (6 of them that I use regulary) but I absolutely must maintain my hotmail account for both professional and personal reasons.
first game I played with lots of motion was descent 3. I played it on a 21 inch crt with quad sound in the room and for the first couple months after I started playing it I got nauseous and dizzy after a while. Eventually I got used to it (I played the game a lot - it was quite addictive) and the feeling went away and hasnt come back since. And yes, I am a guy, so I guess my point is it happens to anyone gender regardless, but I think its something that most ppl can get used to if they get exposed to it enough.
ssh proxy to a computer that does have said ports open perhaps? It works for me at school to home...
I believe GP was refering to vLc...
lol, that's funny. I ride the cyclone every weekend during the summer (work at the NY Aquarium).
:-P.
I have to say though, as exhihilarating as it is, it stopped havent the "scary" part ages ago, I've ridden it too many times
Nice, Thank you for giving me a new away msg and potential sig!

In Linus' imortal words:
"Only wimps use tape backup: real men just upload their important stuff on ftp, and let the rest of the world mirror it."

As is oft quoted:
"when you have boot you have root"
and:
"when you have access, you have boot"

what does not kill you makes you stronger.... or so says conan :-P
It is. What makes this one particularly interesting though is it seems to be singing "feed me seamore!!"

despite the name (which reflects its founding) it is in fact a secular paper and an accredited scientific journal.
