FireFox Spyware Hoax Spreads February 27, 2005 Thomas Mennecke
On February 16, 2005, Microsoft released their anti-spyware agent name "Microsoft AntiSpyware." The response from the release so far has been generally well received, even if it was not home grown by Microsoft. Microsoft bought the intellectual property rights of Giant AntiSpyware, and marketed it under their own name. The software is free of charge.
Yesterday, a screen shot began circulating across the Internet. The screenshot was of Microsoft's AntiSpyware program identifying Mozilla FireFox as spyware. According to the screen shot, it noted FireFox "vulnerable to a lack of security updates" and "...is a very high risk thread and should be removed immediately."
Admittidly, the screen shot is very well made. Local discussion on IRC also questioned whether the screen shot was authentic or not. However, after downloading, installing and running Microsoft AntiSpyware with Mozilla FireFox installed, it was quickly learned this screen shot was nothing more than an extremely clever hoax.
Despite this, several major news sites have posted this as real news. Please note this is not true; Microsoft AntiSpyware does not recognize FireFox as spyware.
A little project to do when the MPAA and RIAA contracted DOJ and FBI goons are about raid your house for widescale copyright infingement they will probaly walk right past your creative little windchimes full of copyrighted material.
How About Kenosis and Rodi both open source and a distributed bittorent idea.Exceem uses libtorrent a open source libary and a proprieatarty supernode system and the code base is encrypted but no encryption is used to protect the end user it also logs into a central server to retrive supernodes not safe at all and maybe suspicious.
One just needs to look at the RIAA and MPAA and the mistakes they have made regarding piracy and alienating thier customer base some people use filesharing networks just to annoy the hell out of the entertainment indusrty Microsoft seemed to headed down the same road.
Eathreactor is Run by Sharepro the same sharepro who Ran the dubious Earthstation 5 forums so no news here if you go look at Slyck you will threads about this got closed of flamed out of existence.

Im an Aussie that lives in Vermont USA and it gets colder than a witches tit here.At the moment we are having balmy wather during the day of 0 to 5 degress C (32-40F).A few weeks ago it was -30C so give me a cold Aussie winter any day. One big difference is the humidity wet damp cold makes you feel colder than frozen snow type cold as most of the moisture is traped. That said we get temps into the 30s-40s (90-100f) in summer and a average day time temp of 25 but the stday starts of about 5-10 degrees c Ill take that any day then 3 days of heatwave weather in Sydney.
Im An Australian that lives in the US and now I refuse to travel through Canada on any connecting flight after being hassled so many times. I am usually red flagged and harrassed by Canadaian Immigration what my bussiness is in the US I tell them my Wife and Kids may not be happy if I dont get back in to the US and that usually stops them in thier tracks. When I get to the US immigration Gate in Canada if any its a few questions why the the Canadians may have questioned me if any and a thourgh check of my luggage and then fly into JFK no prolems. If I fly direct to JFK or stop in a friendly country like Japan or Korea for a stopover I have no problems and being one of the few cuacasians that speaks english on those particular flights when arrive in New York im usually told by a immigration official to get on the end of the locals line so I get through immigration in about 15 mins most days and when the customs guys that check my bag say how are you today hear my Australian accent they let me go When flying out of JFK to Australia the Airline Desk process the imigration papers ect.In Australia when you leave you go into a customs area and a Immigration Official takes your paperwork. The best bet is not to transfer through Canada for anything if you are trying to get gain entry to the US its a good way to recive a red flag.
Sure you can controll the cooling system with one of those Johnson Controlls Thermostats wired for Homebrewers and its nice and low tech solution.
Im a brewer and this would be great, so you could monitor the temprature remotely even better would be to have a alarm set up on a remote PC if the temp went above or below set limits, if there is a problem with your Refirgeration equipment you will be alerted instantly and be able to remedy the situation possibly.
It would also be good for monitoring heat exchangers in a small brewery so the wort will be at the right temprature for the yeast. It would also be handy for setting mash tempratures also with a timer simmilar to a RIMS system.
If you think Slashdotters are geeks you should out Homebrew Digest @ http://hbd.org/ beer geeks are well and alive.
Why not just get hack a digital Johnson Controll Digital teprature thermostat that would be alot easier but more expensive. Matt Donellan uses them at his St Peters Brewery where he makes St Peters Blonde.

If the encryption is for open source in the US all you have to do is submit your source code for review if you want to export the code Im sure that the Govornment wouldnt allow a corporation acess to its Quantum computers to break encryption but it is America so just name your price.

The MPAA and RIAA are just going to make it harder for the govornment to find suspicious encrypted material with new improvemnets and developmnets in the p2p world regarding encrypted, hash IDs and proxy chaining filesharing clients and protocols. The NSA will be flodded with encrypted data on a daily basis once these clients go mainstream and everyone trying to avoid a lawsuit will be using them so it will be like finding a needle in a haystack .
I have a Senseo coffee maker at home and work and theres another product Home Cafe that was on featured on Survivor they use coffee pods and pressure brewing to make off the shelf generic coffee like Folgers and Maxwell House taste good essporesso.
Its the brewing method that makes the coffee taste crap just as much as poor quality beans cofee from a drip filter that sits on a heating plate is crap but the Majority of Americans make thier coffee in this manner.
If they developed a product that heated the water then used the pressure from the heating process to force the water throgh the beans and some sort of filtering device they could give you espresso and you would never go back to drip filter coffee or mass produced reheated coffee in a can like Wolfy is trying to promote.
