2 points first with something this big every hacker / hacker group in the world be trying to crack it so i'm not all that worried. And second whats to prevent us from using an older version of windows to rip the cds to mp3 and then put them on our new computers.
You would also have make the software require a response from the central server every time it started or people could just use a prog llike kerio personal firewall to block it from calling home. Unfortunatley this would rener the program useless for those using it on a laptop or somewhere where an internet connection is unavailable.
It would depend on how his contract was set up. If they are paying him a flat rate to compose a song for them (sony) then they would own the music. However if they are just licensing it from him then he would own the music.
They're probby hoping the terrorists won't think of whatever ingenius exploitation of satellite images that they themselves thought first.. Instead, they should publicize the arguments and then fix the exploit. Otherwise, the government will end up like Microsoft and be forced to fix the exploit after it has been exploited
I remember reading somewhere that captured al qaeda had said that they had originally dismissed chemica weapons as being to difficult to obtain/ workwith. It was only after the newsmedia kept going on about how easy it was to get chemical weapons that they started looking at them.
It think it is a big mistake and many times its becuase the parents are scared of the world You dont truly believe that High School is the real world do you? In the real world and college if you dont have something done on time does your professor/boss say oh thats ok you can turn it in next week? Do people hold yourhands the whole way? Students socialize what maybe 2 hours total a day? Lunch and in between classes? Yeah I can see how homeschoolers are missing a lot
Every homeschooled person I've ever met have been crazy geniuses because they were taught how to think and reason. Of course, they are also socially inept as they didn't have to deal with masses of other children.
As someone who was homeschooled for 9 years I have to disagree with your statement. I'm sick of all the ignorance about homeschooling.
There are many oppourtunities for homeschoolers to "interact" with other children. We had monthly homeschool meetings where we all got together (50-60 families and in rural south ga. I know of some groups that have over 200 ) There are many clubs we canjoin boys and girls club boy/girl scouts, 4-H etc. and since we can do a days worth of work by lunch time we have more time to devote to extracurricular activities. I have had several friends who were homeschooled for years go back to public school and fit right in. Most of them like it better becasue the class work is easier than what they had to do at home. I make friends quite easily. I've been at college for 3 weeks and this weekend I spent the entire weekend away from my house hanging out with diff groups of friends. Last night while I was hanging out with a couple guys I had 2 other groups call me and see if I wanted to do something.
Course we're not all crazy geniuses either. some people want to homeschool cause they think it means they wont have to work hard. Or because they are "discipline problems" which is entirely the wrong reason to HS.
for the past two years I attended a 2 year college with the reputation of being the hardest in the state. The English Teachers are proud of the high Regents essay test scores and work hard to keep it that way. I dont know how many times I heard someone say "I wish my teacher hadnt been so easy on me."
Homeschoolers actually tend to do better in college as well. We're already used to working on our own and having to get projects done on time.
As to the topic you wouldnt believe how much pressure has been put on the homeschool movement in the past and continues today. Here is an excerpt from the current issue Home School Legal defence association's monthly court report "Two veteran homeschool families, both Home School Legal Defense Association members, received notices from the Calhoun Intermediate School District that they were in "violation" of the compulsory attendance law. Though aware that these families were exercising their constitutional and statutory rights to homeschool, the district demanded that the families' children be placed in public school the day after receipt of the notices.
The notices threatened that failure to place the children in school immediately would result in "court action." If convicted, the families would be slapped with a fine, "imprisonment for not less than two or more than ninety days," or both.HSLDA court report

Actually one of the reasons english is so screwed up is cause it's such a bastardized mix of so many languages. Including French. When France conquered England they banned the speaking of English. So of course people still spoke it secretly but had to use French for day to day use. When the French were finally kicked out of the island and English could be spoken again it was mixed in with french.
My computer came with a 60 day version of woffice installed. I dont use it I actually deleted the shortcuts out of my menu. But whenever I sync Docs to go on my palm evry document it syncs makes it trigger asking to provide the activation code. Why cant office be nice and go away.
Most of the things they post on the main page of that site come from sources inside Lucasfilm. They have tipsters that have been feeding them info since ep.1 For those who didnt RTFA This isnt just an anonymous post to some msg board
Seeing as how i'm 20 and a college I'm guessing i'm your intended audience. And I have to say that bg music is unacceptable in any form. NOTHING is more annoying than loud music sudenly blasting through your speakers louder than anything else. THankgoodness I'm using OPERA and have music disabled.

Anytime i've gone to make a major purchase or even enter an electronic store I make a point to be baggy unneat clothes. e.g. no collared shirts. I already look a LOT younger than i am so the salespeople leave me alone. And if i'm going to be buying something like a comp where I'm going to HAVE to interact with an employee I get my dad to go with me. Guess who the sales people pressure? Leaving me free to look over specs and such.
That said I normally shop at staples and found them really good at sending back rebates. Though they did try to sell us a PSP. Dad wanted to get it and since he was paying i said ok cause we didnt have much time. Started looking over it and everything that was covered in there I could fix. So we took it back to the store a couple days and they gave us a refund with no problem.
A friend of mine was in the building at georgia tech when some computer students cracked the encryption protecting the microsoft source code. I think he said it was Rot 20 something

According to one of the posts Here on Macslash. This program is just a front end for an open source project
