Its possible that I'm simply missing the point, but if Tor is so effective then how exactly did a university IT guy and two campus cops find out it was in use and trace it so easily to the professor in question? Isn't anonymity the whole point?
"'One of the biggest challenges... is to fight that perception that old versions of software are good enough,' said Microsoft's Chris Capossela.
Change 'old' to 'new' and I'm right there with you.
I remember taking a web design class years ago at Purdue that called for a 3 second load time as people clicked away after that. Whats funny is that modems were still in heavy use at the time so you could pretty much only load some text and a small pic and there goes your 3 seconds.
I just voted in Indiana and didn't run into any problems. Even the staff was helpful. One odd bit, family members that moved away years ago appeared on the same sign-in sheet that I had to sign. I wonder how often they update that crap.
Is it really asking too much of an Admin to maintain good software installation permissions and policies? If untrustworthy users have been given high enough authority to install their own software then Admins have no one to blame but themselves.
Well you can probably blame management too.. thats always good.
"The survey found that 93 per cent of parents were in favour of filtering out pornography available on the home computer, let alone those in public buildings. The survey also drew a link between prolonged exposure to this material and tolerance of sexual aggression. Is this why some men see women as a fashion to be used one day and discarded the next?"
Oh yeah, thats the reason. It has nothing to do with thousands and thousands of years of supressing female rights, THE INTERNET DID IT!
Has anybody noticed that the thickness of the controller changes from top to bottom (when held in 'remote control' fashion)? Obviously this is for the battery compartment, but wont that make it a little strange to hold in a sideways orientation? Your left hand will grab a thin section while the right will grip a section substantially thicker and heavier. Imagine how that would have felt on the original NES controller.
Am I the only one that doesn't mind the current Gimp interface? Admittedly it was a bit strange at first but thats only because I had previously used Photoshop's interface.
I like Warner, EMI, Sony, Universal.
Otherwise known as W.E.S.U.
Out of curiosity, which one?
Oohhhh, S-T-Yler - everybody's safe then.

more complicated = more parts = more likely to break

Since I get to say this so rarely without sarcasm... Good one Microsoft.
stupid, stupid, stupid. I feel theres nothing else to say.
I second your opinion on The Rundown, which is something I Never expected from a movie starring 'The Rock'.

... 2k is still chugging along fine for the rest of us.
Ok so the next question is, Who wants to do this for Guild Wars?
..Says the lazy guy that doesnt want to take the time
Hey I'll jump on that bandwagon. In fact, I did about 6 months ago.
Put it in another room and run extension cables. Seriously, nothing else will work.
This little blurb seems completely contrary to

Well that certainly doesnt say much for the previous consoles' release lineups.

Perhaps that final sentence should read:
