Voila!
IrfanView makes everything easier.
Seriously, it's a much bigger annoyance FTPing the files than resizing them (although that's mainly because I'm on day 1100 or so of the 30 day trial in FlashFXP and have to wait 30 seconds to get rid of the nag screen).
Actually, while I was on vacation in Tokyo I picked up Mr. Driller Ace for the GBA (GBA has no territory lock. Yay!) and it allows you to download the game to connected GBAs as well. Several GBA games do this.
Katamari is the first game that has -ever- made me seriously doubt my decision not to get a PS2. Why oh why can't it be released for Xbox or Gamecube or even Dreamcast? It seems like it would fit perfectly on the latter two.
All this is is a PCI card, from what I understand. I'm guessing it lets you wire the buttons and such to your PC and treat them as a game controller.
Still gotta own or build a cabinet, which is either really expensive or really time consuming.
I agree that I wouldn't want to see it again, because it was largely enjoyable because of its uniqueness and surprise, but that race through the exploding pillar of autumn is one of -the best- video game moment I've ever experienced.
The iQue was originally created as the ultimate anti-piracy system for a high-piracy markey. Now they're gonna not only let people connect it to their home computers, but let the people download the games on their own. I give it a week. Wait, China. It'll be cracked 10 minutes before it's released.
Not saying it's a bad idea, just saying it basically throws out everything the iQue was supposed to be.
I just assume I'm smarter than everyone else ninety-five times out of a hundred that I interact with someone it's glaringly obvious that they have a severe lack of knowledge and/or wit.
The world is filled with idiots. I don't consider myself smart. I consider myself average. I think everyone else is just really fucking stupid.
Are you stupid, ignorant or just seriously lacking in anything remotely related to insight?
Why are people so fascinated with movies? Why are people so fascinated with books? Maybe they've all got retarded imaginations. Why are people so fascinated with sports? Maybe it's because they're so fat and unathletic.
Seriously, man, think before you speak. D&RPGs are a hobby like any other. Sure, there's people that are a bit too obsessed, but I'm sure a much greater percentage of sports fans could quote the statistics of 20 years worth of players in football, baseball and basketball than there are RPGers who could even tell you the names of all the monsters in the most recent Monster Manual, never mind their statistics.
I believe in the first expansion to NWN, they allowed you to have one party member, and in the second you can have two. They also greatly improved the interface for party members in the second one; in the first one it was really just an AI that you were able to grossly manipulate through a kludged together dialog system.
Those details could be wrong, though, been a long time since I've played. But the point is, if you're making a new game with the NWN engine, it's possible to have party members.
Every time I shut down one of their nefarious schemes, the Countess herself personally thanks me for rooting out corruption in her corporation. I'm beginning to think Crey's not as innocent as they claim...
Wait, what? Oh, sorry, wrong Crey.
I can attest to that... White Wolf's binding falls apart faster than a newly established Iraqi government. Too bad, because their books are some of the most interesting reads you'll find in the RPG industry, even if the system is a bit lackluster IMHO.
I'm a Windows fanatic, but I've got to question how useful a Windows emulator is to the, as the article put it, nascent Linux gaming community.
Companies might see that Linux is starting to become more common and might be worth porting games over. But is it really worth porting games over if someone else is gonna do the hard work for them and Linux users will buy and play Windows versions with an emulator?
If they're tapping into the Linux market anyways through someone else's work, why bother porting it, even if it would be more stable and better optimized? What do they care?
Is it really necessary to specify that they're pimping out games with or without their full source code released? I mean, unless they're like specifically avoiding games that only have partial source code released...
As far as realism goes, there are definitely better systems.
As far as flexibility, playability and simplicity go, I defy you to name any system which beats the D20 system in *any* of those categories, never mind all 3.

Just browsing through it and wanted to comment that I hate you.
I was thinking about making a card-based RPG, although my idea was to have everyone have a hand of cards, so they could for example use their good cards on actions they really wanted to succeed at but they'd end up having to use bad cards at some point.
However, I find myself wondering how your deck of cards, seeing as there are equal numbers of red and green cards, would be any different from just flipping a coin (or multiple coins if you have multiple card draws).
Also, it would be just as easy to use a normal deck of playing cards and rule that black cards are successes and red cards failures.
Of course, either of these might be mentioned somewhere in your PDF, they are pretty obvious. I've only looked at the first couple pages.
MoO2 is the best game ever. It's the only game that I've installed on every computer since I got it, and I still learn something new whenever I play it.
I was actually paid to beta test it for a couple months, I worked at Atari.
I do have to say, the crafting system was the most fun I've had crafting, although the only other MMORPGs I've played are EverQuest and City of Heroes.
City of Heroes rawks all other MMORPGs' sawks, incidentally.
Dangit. I always forget to add the linebreaks. Is there something in my profile I can set to automatically interpret line breaks?

Aye. Incidentally, I submitted this with a better headline.

Anyone else think of Wargames?
Unless this article features FMV Tia Carrere, not interested.
Ack. Change D&DRPGs to just RPGs. Not wearing my glasses and thought I deleted that. :)

I didn't mention any specifics. I don't even think that spoils the story at all. I just mentioned one of the possibilities.
