Well, for lightsaber creation, you usually do need rare crystals that are of high quality and a certain crystalline structure that allow them to be used as a focusing crystal in the lightsabers. Most Light Jedi use these natural crystals in their lightsabers due to their purity and all that. These crystals are found on various planets, but high-quality ones are pretty rare.
On the other hand, Sith lightsabers are usually made with synthetic crystals, but the creation of these crystals is very time consuming and takes the concentration of the Sith on the crystal to form it properly as well.
Anyway, you are on the right track in thinking that lightsaber creation is usually a complex or time-consuming process.
Like I said earlier when discussion of the Star Wars TV show first came up, you've got to keep it away from the Episodes 1-9 (Galactic Civil War) timeline and put it in the past (like around the time of KOTOR/Mandalorian War/Exar Kun's War) so you can have all kinds of awesome characters and fantastic worlds instead of visiting Tatooine for the 23rd time.
With the exception of Jedi Academy, I think the Jedi Outcast series have been some of the most fun and engaging FPS games around.
Yes...They had some great action and stories with them. Who doesn't love force pushing enemies off cliffs or otherwise abusing weapons and force powers?
Unfortunately, while you get your lightsaber right off the bat in Jedi Academy, the story is basically a couple of random fanfics thrown together as missions under a vague and boring overall theme and story. If they do make another sequel, they should bring back a consistent and interesting story like those of the first three games in the series, but still allow you to have your lightsaber right off the bat.
But right now, I'm busy waiting for KOTOR II for the PC to come out. Once that gets released, I'm sure my grades will be suffering for a week or two while I play through it a few times.
The probability of finding a Mersenne number that is prime is much better than just choosing a random number to check for primality, which makes it easier to find large primes if you just hunt through the Mersenne numbers.
Haven't we been hearing this kind of stuff for the last X many years? It's either "No programmers will be employed in the US ever again!" or "Programming jobs increasing 1500% in the next 10 years!" I'm sticking with what interests me rather than going with a job that's more secure but makes me want to slash my wrists with a letter opener every morning.
If you haven't played System Shock or System Shock 2 yet, go and get a copy now. Then when you have it installed, wait until late at night and turn off the lights and turn the sound all the way up. Only then can you properly experience these games.
I did these things and scared the hell out of myself when I actually came across the first hybrids/cyborgs. If you aren't scared in the slightest by these games, you aren't playing them correctly.
If my calculations are correct, 23 SSFTs = 1.7345 Bajiggitywatts = 3.75 BLoCs. But if you want to use Flaming Ears of Corn, you get a nice round 1 Trillion FEoCs.

In my opinion, a Star Wars TV series would work best with the timeline about 5000 years before the Battle of Yavin, which is around the time of action of Knights of the Old Republic. You've got the Sith Wars, the Mandalorian War, and the conflict with Exar Kun going on about that time, and there's a good amount of Jedi and Sith to do battle and tons of interesting worlds as well. With this we could avoid the same old "Empire vs. Rebels/Republic vs. Separatist" nonsense.
The first unwanted advertisements were probably scrawled on cave walls and advertised "Atok's fine-carved spears, extra cheap! Kill many deer and bison!!!!!" a few hundred-thousand years ago, if we're going to get all technical about it.
But on the serious side, the claim of using encryption to store data on someone's hard drive worries me. Let's say the encryption gets broken. Now you might get Aunt Nedda's cookie recipes, but then again, you might get BobCo's strategic investment plan for the next 6 months as well. I can see people signing up just for the chance to hunt through people's data.
Han shooting first (in the original) makes him look like a total badass instead of some whiny bitch that is stupid enough to the chance that Greedo's aim sucks before he'll shoot back.
I was about ready to start cutting my wrists in despair at the thought of servicing it, but your picture has reassured me that Apple may be back on the right track for serviceability in the iMac models.

I'm assuming any big games after Doom III will require even more upgrades. I, for one, welcome our id overlords with open arms and a machine with quad processors and a six-way SLI PCI-Express video card setup!
Philosophy = the Computer/Internet is a benefit in the same way that the Lunchroom, the Bathroom and the Fitness Room is -- you can use any of those for personal business if you don't bother others.
So you could visit Playboy.com using a company laptop and wireless connection while in the bathroom?
I'd highly encourage the health care industry to patch their systems fairly quickly after some testing or better yet, keep all vital systems off the internet and under lock and key. Better to lose some database connectivity than have "pwn3d!!!" burnt into my eye during laser eye surgery or have my drug prescriptions or allergy information altered.
Don't listen to these idiots - they probably have aerodynamic fins and flourescent light tubes on their PCs
But I get a.1 FPS boost in Doom 3 with each new light I install!

Now can we get Forbes.com and the Princeton Review modded down for technical-related articles?
