The reason why you should use firefox is in TFA.
If there ever was a reason to use firefox (again), it is now! The earlier populairity of firefox was caused by the dominance of IE and the abuse it caused on the web. The same problem we are about to have now. So again it is important that firefox gets more usage, only because it is the one free (no hidden agenda) browser still available.

But there was no HOME computer that could do what the Amiga did, and all in all, it was expensive, but not out of reach.

Commodore should be studied in bussiness schools, they still hold the record to this day of the best sold computer ever (c64) and they had a product like the Amiga afterward (which was very popular in EU, not so much elsewhere) that was so powerful and capable compared to anything else. And still they manage to go broke. My young mind couldn't understand it at the time, today, i'm just disgusted to read and learn all the things that went on behind the scenes leading to its demise.

Elop was an ex-MS guy who simply destroyed Nokia (so MS could buy it). Nokia could have been big in the smartphone market, as they were one of the biggest mobile brands and they were not late to the smartphone party yet.
Just the fact that Jolla is still alive today, is evidence enough it was a good platform, just image what they could have accomplished if Nokia really pulled through on it.

This is just another story where management destroyed the company, very much like the Amiga (see the other recent article on /.)

there were others too, like ultima underworld, alone in the dark, not to mention that you almost had a (small) hard disk on pc, which made certain games better to play, lucasarts and sierra online adventure in particular. also don't forget Doom's daddy - wolfenstein!
