why do you have to know if you're talking to an AI or not? i don't see how that even matters, i know people get worked up about it, but i don't know why.
you're going to tell me somebody is illegally chopping up 3 times the size of London without it being noticed? that's not a few trees here and there they just secretly drag off, something of that size surely must be noticable and you should be able to act on it.
the criminal will stay in the car and waits until he gets driven to the nearest police station and arrested. he can't escape because the car is locked...
being a big CEO, she was lucky to get her picture removed quickly by the police. i wonder how much success the average chinese person would have in a case like this.
just what i though when reading this, but then i wondered that the actual target machines are probably IoT devices or consumer network stuff or maybe even old-ass Android phones still in use (wouldn't be that crazy). All those things run outdated, unpatched, insecure linux installations out of the box, with almost no chance of ever seeing an update.
you hear only those things because you're reading US news sites, but don't worry, on EU sites we read how great the EU is and about the many fails of US/Asia. I'm sure on other continent news sites it's the same story (we are great, the rest is fail).
i agree, but i think he's doing it for another reason. i've heard enough people say - oh well, if we screw this place (earth) up, we'll always have mars to go live on.
yeah, well, i rather not screw up this place, even if it will be possible to live on mars. and i think, he's trying to have those people come to insights to that.
"every other smartphone on the market uses Google too. Apple is just always held to some high standard that is impossible to meet."
it's not about that. even last week cook was claiming that it was immoral how these other companies treated their users and Apple would never do that. sure Apple is probably not involved in search actions on your device, but they're helping google, which is arguably just as bad.
movement is the biggest problem for (some) vr experiences. walking is one thing, but imagine a vr game as immersive as some of the latest FPS's and i can guarantee you walking is only half of what you will be doing. jumping, ducking, crawling, etc will all be part of it, and such these rolling shoes will only help a bit and you still need a big open space.
would be fine for 'walking simulators' and vr-museums i suppose.
"Instagram doesn't list any specific apps or services on its blog post, so it's tough to tell which third-party services will be impacted by this."
well, those that boost your accounts popularity, i though that was pretty clear.
"This kind of activity has been against Instagram's Terms of Service for a while, so it's not entirely clear why Instagram wants to crack down on this now."
because 1. it's against their policy and they now have a system that can enforce it and 2. fake likes lower the value of your social network.
haven't used windows in a long time, but is it free these days (or is there a free edition)? if not, they still show ads in bundled applications? wow... you know just complaining won't help, just abandon the platform.

and so are processes in place that still require a fax to be used.
Q: Can you send me the form, filled in, by fax?
A: No, i can't because of where i live
Q: Really, where do you live?
A: in the 21st century.
why not?

and those windows are unbreakable.
isn't this about true for any type of job switching?
there is always some work-in time required before you're performing at maximum capacity.

i would say, i blame the game for being an incognito gambling scheme.
enough said.

now i know what to tell my boss the next time there are no backups.
it's by design!

by the time humans ever get to set foot on mars, it will be already swamped by rover-robots.

further spectre mitigation code is causing these slow down issues.
it's discussed in a follow up phoronix article.
and nobody was surprised by this, sadly it's the case with almost every device connected to the internet at this point.
with those specs, you can find them on phones way cheaper, even with Android One.
1. fast
2. secure
3. easy to use
wouldn't it be great this would be available for everybody all the time?
