the real question should be: why do enterprises continue to buy these poor products? it puts them in danger and cisco has shown over and over that they don't learn.
check out lineageOS, it will probably support your phone longer then they will continue to work. my s4 mini is still running fine, getting updates all the time. in fact, i don't buy a phone unless i know it's supported by lineageOS for this reason.
The AI we have today isn't real AI as we have in scifi, but imagine we ever get to that point and humans start acting this way. Can you blame the AI for wanting to fight back?
it is human nature to think it will never happen to you. it's how diseases spread as well - oh, i will never get aids or some other contagious sickness.
I hate how the industry forced us into using browsers as management utilities, and got rid of the solidly working dedicated applications that worked well before under the guise of, "Now you can easily manage xyz from any workstation and no installation necessary!!".
i don't, the problem is that so many were using flash, or active x, or IE specific bs, or a crazy browser plugin only for this thing that works only on windows xp, or java 1.5.something, or a combination of all of these. if they were REAL web application, there wouldn't be a problem. Now they were just the same as before - all different, badly written, applications with way to specific requirements, so it never worked for everybody.
we don't know, some say it will create so much more jobs that we'll have to create AI to fill them all. others say nobody will need to (or will be able to) work anymore and that we quickly need basic income plans before all of society crashes.
nobody is going to invest in developing gigantic improved diesel engines now, it's almost impossible to adhere to the current emission rules and diesel engines are already complex enough without adding extra bits and bolts on them for better results.
Same thing for arming teachers, what are they going to do?
this will result in only more people getting shot, most of them innocent because of 'accidental' shootings. it's what you see with the police force as well, every day there is a new video of somebody getting killed by police even though they didn't do anything to warant it. the cops are either trigger happy or afraid. some for those teachers who will grab and shoot their gun at some kids who's a bit 'difficult'.
i see your point, and understand. the thing is that you have a choice 1. you back out yourself and hit a wall/car/person 2. your car doesn't allow you to back out and you get hit in the front
none of these is good, both are an accident, but i think it will differ in who is to blame. in 1 you are to blame, in 2 the other party is to blame.
Do they believe what they say? This guy would like to drive a car like that himself? Really? And what is worse, they manage to sell this idea and it get mass adapted, because everybody thinks it is awesome?
By the time we will have real working and possibly fearing AI, it will find so much information online about what we fear it can do to us (and the opposite), that it will know how to work around all our fears without us knowing.
Is it just the same as having cable? But you watch TV through a youtube 'app'? If so, what is the point? TV is rubbish, too many ads, show play when i can't watch them, can't binge series, too many bad shows/realitytv,... Who wants this and pay $40 for it?
Tin foil hat on, but i think this guy may have been on the payrol of some company to harm either linux, the gpl or both.
Feed a computer algorithm millions of pictures of people, as diverse as possible, and let it then generate what the average human looks like.

obviously it is used for something, because tfa mentions that it 'occluded the clock'.
Now that these expensive 300-400 workers have been removed from the total cost of producing said jeans, the consumer price will surely drop.
the money would have been in great tools to create flash content.
content tools is something adobe is supposably good at.

in EU, some countries are very worried about mass EV adoption because they have calculated the electrical grid couldn't handle it.
Doesn't NK use their own OS, something based on Linux?
'Red Star' it's called, i think.
Finally, what took them so long?!
No wonder we humans haven't gone back to the moon yet...

obviously this is the answer, let a virtualized world figure it out for you.

the samsung high end phones, like this S9 will be, are also too expensive for most people.
