why do we even know about this? Shouldn't this be some classified secret or do they already have craft that handily surpass mach 10 and thus don't care if we know about it? The stealth project was a secret for over 40 years and they're just parading this around (arguable if equal importance) for the cameras...what gives? What secret shit are they NOT telling us about I wonder.
the only downside to firefox I've found are problems with web sites designed ONLY to work with IE. I've only had the problem with a few web sites and hopfully as firefox gets more well known and excepted people will stop that kind of stupidity.
hopfully this will help outrage the average joe finally. Phone spam annoyed people but usually didn't cost them anything and it provoked some good 'ol fasioned outrage and finally got legal attention. Email spam is pretty much the same thing. But this WILL cost the average joe so hopfully we'll see some immedate action rather than the slow "lets live with it..oh wait its annoying..oh shit fuck this" mentality. I really cannot understand why unsolicited advertising isn't illegal already.

Anything important gets logged via email or some propritary messaging service the company gives out so theres no claiming you never saw/heard it or any ambigutiy in the wording. The only real use phones have is long distance talking to significant others where you want to try to get some personal touch in via voice but nowdays a webcam and voice over ip is the way to go. I don't even have long distance phone service at my house, for the few long distance calls I do make long distance I just use one of the 10-10+code series of deals.

The fastest, best, AND cheapest way to test network security is to load up an irc client on it and go to a linux channel. Then simply talk about how your "windows" system is unhackble.
While on the surface it may seem possible to do all this in the next 20-30 years hte author seems to be forgetting all the equipment needed to handle and work with these type of organisms. As these are not typical consumer goods I wouldn't expect to see the prices come down like computer components either. I have no doubt a few cases will occur but it certainly won't be like with computer virsues where all you need is a computer and a compiler of some kind.
One of the main things that will never really be present in computer players is human reaction. A human may bluff, or try to call a bluff, or deliberatly do somthing retarded to cause you to underestimate them. Until the devlopment of true Ai there will never really be an "exciting" computer match. Currently computers simply calculate the most "efficient" move and take it. Thats like listening to a recording of music instead of playing it yourself.
I switched both my parents over to firefox and it took them over a month to notice. They wanted to know why IE had a funny embryoish logo in the top left heh. I had switched the firefox icon over to the IE one and set up an IE theme on it. Really I havn't seen a single example of somthing IE does better than fire fox. The only limitations I've noticed are on web sites designed ONLY to work with IE like the mcafee web site.
Being a lazy bastard I usually jsut leave my case open for cooling and so I can swap out cards and drives without having to remove a side panel. I came home from college a few years ago and stuffed in some new drive I got for xmas and left the case open. I thought nothing of doing what I've always done but sadly I had forgotten one minor detail. A six foot, scaily detail. My iguana is about 15 years old and pretty much senile and does whatever he wants without reason or cause. Somtimes he wonders about the house and gets lost in closets. He also can climb anything known to man so the fact that it was on a desk didn't even come into it. I neglected to concider all this when I left it open. Sure enough I came home one day to find the computer utterly obliterated on the floor with the cards strewn around and mobo and cpu shattered. I have no idea how he didn't get electructed but I even found one of his claws stuck in the cpu heatsink fins. The only thing I can figure is that he thoguht a handy souce of hot air was fucking badass so he wanted to cuddle up close to it and probally got shocked by one of the cards. It sucked but live and learn.
In the future I wouldn't be suprised to see vast number of channels as costs for having a station decrease. Right now most channels just show reruns and cheap talk shows and they do alight. The real question is going to be if the "big" channels try to push for legislation to make it more expensive for people to compete at creating a new station. Right now most of hte major stations are "family oriented" and remove anything that might be scary or objectionable from daytime lineup. The cable tv channels are much smaller and generally cater to a specific subset of the audience. Because of the internet I can see channels like these being able to target their specific subgroup much more efficiently and thus become more successful. I wouldn't be suprosed to see 500+ channels in the next 20 years.
As "hard" as some people seem to think punch card ballots are can you imagine the complaints if they put them on a computer? Also even if they have rock solid security there will be claims and disputes about how the results were "hacked" and the average sheeple will believe them rather than admit they lost. If they switch to evoting now florida will seem par for the course.
as long as nintendo continues to market mostly to the kiddy sector I can't seem to convince myself to buy any of their products. For all the games they make a year I can only manage to enjoy a handful, while at the same time other systems like the PS2 and XBOX make a wide range of games where I have more of a choice as to "childish" or "adult". When it comes down to dollars I'd rather spend them on the system I can enjoy more.
Is anyone even clear now on how many planets are in just our solar system? We found two more even smaller than pluto but now they're saying not even pluto counts as a planet..so rather than just be like WEE LOOK A ROCK hows about we get some unified standards of some sort
For a series that old I'd have taken whatever money was offered. In another 10-20 years most the people who know about it will be dead and the brand name will have zero value.
I keep waiting for a company to try to patent the idea of a front facing computer. I mean really with all the shit that they patent you think that they'd patent "the idea of putting things in the front"
I've always wondered why the US hasn't built up their mass transit abilities on the national level. We have subways in various towns but none of them link together and we don't have any of the long rail lines like they do in Germany or Japan. I also feel safe in saying the rail road is pretty shitty in compairson to other countries. I wonder if this is because as Americans we demand the right and excuse to use cars or if we have no other option right now.
i could see this working if prepaid low limit debit cards became common. I would love to use prepaid $100 cards to pay for stuff online just for the added safty. You can't have your credit rating messed with if your not risking it. Plus it would make micropayments not a big deal. You could keep a $10 or $20 card handy just for that purpose.
not according to HP. It's in their fine print that at any time they can chose to no longer support a product and once its discontinued they no longer have any customer support oblegations. They also gave me some bullshit about checking out their new fine line of dvd burners.
The only HP product I had installed on my system was a HP 935 digital camera and it installed no less than 3 TSRs and was gobbling up a total of around 32 megs of ram
