CoD5 doesn't explore the ramifications of world war 2, it doesn't explore the significance of what happened politically or even socially. What it does is try to provide you with the opportunity to gain some sort of distant reference point to what the experience of war was. To feel overwhelmed by the sheer scale of the destruction occuring on the eastern front, to realise the desperation of the japanese banzai charges and marine advances.
What people do or don't get out of a game is entirely up to them. people can just as easily watch a holocaust DOCUMENTARY and sit there going "hee hee boobies" everytime they see the camp prisoners on tape as they can play a videogame and gain an insight into the utter destructiveness of war.
Mod this up too. It's a perfect example of the fallacy of false choices. Just because The Grapes of Wrath was a literary giant that took a long, hard, and uncomfortable look at the depression doesn't mean that something whose only purpose is to entertain me with fantasy is "baseless and vulgar".
Not everything needs to be difficult or world-shatteringly profound in order to NOT be a steaming pile, which for the record is exactly what I think those two ARE.
So because of YOUR obsession with violence and gore, because of YOUR short-sighted inability or willfull ignorance, what YOU are seeing MUST be the truth?
I think your inability to even speak on this subject without sticking in strings of demeaning slurs and excessive to the point of being misleading references to violence when referring to games and gamers says far more about YOUR failings than those of the people you're speaking of.

At the same time I've had teachers that I didn't like because I couldn't learn anything from someone that didn't know something about ANYTHING or was just utterly inept at teaching and the obvious flipside of teachers that were both excellent at conveying the material AND awesome teachers.
The problem is that any sort of decent reviewing system would require effort on the part of the administration and that's just unacceptable.
Three highschools, two elementary schools, and a middle school, all spread across three states at opposite coasts. In elementary school we got the DARE treatment about how ALL drugs were The Devil, in middle school they kept on with that and went on to abstinence bible thumping, and in all three highschools they outright lied to promote the abstinence agenda.
As a bonus in one of the highschools the principal banned all mentions of south africa because he thought we shouldn't care so much about other race's problems.
Oh and all of these, like pretty much every other school in the country, were Zero Tolerance schools. What kind of liberalism should I have looked out for because every school I've ever been to from florida to oregon has been more religious right than bleeding heart liberal.

I never did get why they put the fake-wear on those jeans in the one place that lasts longer than everywhere else and then leave the knees and ankle areas completely normal.
I'm still keeping my ibm p260 alive until something that comes closer to CRTs than flatpanels is out. Even built my own windas cable to fix the g2 issue.

Your 21st century seems a lot nicer than my 21st century. I haven't seen a flatpanel yet that in objective terms of quality comes anywhere near a CRT.
