I typically will charge like 1/2 up-front and 1/2 at the end. If you plan on doing that make sure you include in your contract an expiration time of your original quote. I've had customers that paid their initial fee then we didn't hear from the client or get any content from them. 2 years later they call and want the same service at the quoted rate. Since then I have increased my rates twice and have stopped doing those little projects. Because we didn't put a expiration on that quote we are stuck doing this at a much lower rate. Thankfully it is a very simple site.
I think that's the point of the study and solution. Round robin doesn't account for under-utilization of resources so it still balances between multiple servers when not needed. What their new algorithm does is allow the servers that are not needed to use their power saving features and maximize utilization of only the needed resources(servers).
If you go and buy a wireless router these days WEP/WPA is enabled by default. 2wire DSL modems that AT&T that has a built in WRT comes default with encryption. Most people probably don't even know they have wireless.
Example. My dad has had att dsl for 2 years now with the 2wire modem. I set it up for him. This past weekend I'm showing him my itouch and he wants to know how it gets on the internet. I told him with his wireless connection. He hadn't a clue that he had it.
My question is, now that this obvious inconsistency has been exposed, what does this mean to those that have already been convicted?
The thing is no one has been convicted.. they all have settled out of court.
You get 1 month of service with that $50 you pay for.. so really yer only paying $35 for the game and $15 for that first month. You also get a 10day pass you can give to a friend so you have someone else addicted also.
I love IRC but IMHO it's a little complicated for John Q Moron that doesn't know that the program that he uses to see webpages is called a browser. They're attracted to the simplicity and flashyness of it. Why do you think so many people actually use Incredimail. and unfortunately I need to talk to these people on a regular basis for work/family.
In other words, if I produce something and release it as GPL - is there somewhere where I could also declare that anything patentable within it should be considered to be in the public domain?
We'll probably need new license for that. Like the GPPL (General Public Patent License). I wonder if they have something like that already
This was not a question about fraud and if it was it would not be the responsibility of the FCC to determine. It was a concern about free speech. IMHO it's Madison's network do what they want. It may piss a lot of people off but it's not up to the FCC to tell them what to do. Granted they did cut people off for emergency services but what happens when there is a network outage. It's the fault of the customers for relying on new technology.
I'm totally against this ruling it's their bandwidth Vonage isn't paying for it. If I were Madison River Communications Corp I'd start charging for that ports useage.
If it were as easy to get "duh-obvious" patents in the hardware realm, the hardware world would similarly be handicapped. In my opinion, we simply need more, better-educated people working at the USPTO, as well as stricter, more consistent rules for granting patents.
We should just have all the/. readers moderate what patents should be granted..
But ideas in and of themselves are worthless until you implement them.
I think what you meant to say was:
"But ideas in and of themselves are worthless until you patent them and sell them to patent trolls"

I've had newegg cross ship. Although I did have to pay for the replacement up-front but it was then refunded once they got the defective one back.
The downside is, I have to remember which of my 3 drives has which OS.
It's not like you can just write it down on a post-it note and stick it to your monitor.
I'd have to take down my password post-it to make room. That won't work.

I wonder if they could break a CAPTCHA

To add to that, the last I checked they aren't mechanics anymore. They're Automotive Technicians.
Sounds a lot like Pay-Per-View to me. That dates back to 1949. The only difference is it's done over the internet. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pay_per_view
What happens on the open book exams? A. They let you use the laptops and then you have mass cheating. B. You didn't buy the book so yer screwed

Just leave it in "BETA" google does a good job at that.
I don't know what that post was modded insightful when it was 100% BS. thanks for settin em striaght.
Nikon could easily cash in on this opportunity and make a photoshop plugin. That would solve everyone's bitching. (less the copyright advocates)
The internet where only hackers, criminals and grannies with 32,000 mp3's can access

This will foster competition and everyone wins!
I'd love to see the bumper stickers on the shuttles.
"My robot beat-up your robot"

What about the slick looking case? newegg.com got it for only $138
Did you look at the machine specs? And the reason they aren't using a sempron is because Asus don't make a Pundit that uses the sempron proc.
Seriously, you'd get a lot more chicks if you got the dual 6800's
