We have a daily stand up meeting. 5-10 minutes every morning where we let everyone know what we've been doing and where we plan to be by the end of the day. When standing in a big circle people tend not to waffle on like they do when sitting around a table in a meeting room.
As for spending all day in one position here's what I rekon:
If you spend 10+ hours a day sitting on your arse then you'll probably get a sore arse.
If you spend 10+ hours a day standing on your feet then you'll probably get sore feet.
If you spend 10+ hours a day standing on your head then you should probably seek help.
Go the middle way. spend some time sitting, some time standing and some time dancin' like a funky chicken.
Have a guess about the number of complaints about the game.
Here's a clue: Australia has a population of just over 20 million...
According to Australian Youth Radio Station Triple J, There were only two!
That's right - only two.

I'm in South Australia and have found the Business SA http://www.business-sa.com/ site quite useful. They also have a Young Entrepreneur Scheme http://www.business-sa.com/Content.aspx?p=32. I'm not sure what other states offer but it would be worth your while checking it out.
Good luck and hope you can make it work.
Back in my day we had to get up in the morning at ten o'clock at night, half an hour before I went to bed, eat a lump of cold poison, work twenty-nine hours a day down mill, and pay mill owner for permission to come to work, and when we got home, our Dad would kill us, and dance about on our graves singing "Hallelujah."
I'm with Internode's 24Mb plan. If you exceed your download limit your connection will be 'shaped'. You are never charged more than your usual monthly fee. As I understand it (and I am open to correction) Shaping involves slwoing your connection down if and only if their servers are under heavy load (ie. it is affecting other users). They do this to keep things fair for all of their users. I've been over my limit a number of times and have not noticed any slow down at all. What I like about it is that they are very explicit about the limits of their service.
From the Be site: https://www.bethere.co.uk/beonline/acceptableUse.d o/ "If it's felt that any member's Internet activities are so excessive that other members are detrimentally affected, Be may give the member generating the excessive web traffic a written warning (by email or otherwise). In extreme circumstances, should the levels of activity not immediately decrease after the warning, Be may terminate that member's services."
The reality of it all is that you will not find many people out there serving up content at 24Mb. Except for direct conections with Internode's mirrors and Gaming Servers (which make the whole thing worth while!) you'll be spending your time waiting for the Internet to catch up with you.
a second work area like an armchair or couch if you need to take a break from the screen for a while
Yes! The key to ergonomics is flexibility. No matter how good your setup is, if you stay fixed in one position then your body will eventually break down. If your eyes are constantly focused at ~40cm they will become fatigued. If you sit in one position, no matter how 'ergonomic' the chair, your body will become tired. When your body is tired, your brain does function optimally.
A good working environment will allow you to move around - a great working environment will encourage you to move around.

Does anyone know who was the first person to welcome our new overlords on slashdot was?
...just wondering
From the article:
"...the line of Toumai creatures then went extinct"
wrong!
The line of the Toumai then split into two groups - 'Pirates' and 'Ninjas'!
Phase 1: Write Linux drivers
Phase 2: ???
Phase 3: Profit!
While you're there, could you tell me if i should use emacs or vi?

I want a hard copy of the Internet on my desk first thing Monday morning.
It's hard to soar like an eagle when you're surrounded by turkeys.
This explains my mysterious Z chromosome...
Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day.
Teach him how to fish and he'll spend all day sitting in a boat drinking beer.
But seriously, I'm big on the volunteering rather than giving $$. Then at least I know exactly what my contribution is doing.
I'd give my right arm for something like that!
The lies detect you!
Every time you break the build you have to buy a round of beers!
I use a claw. http://claw.com.au/ It is very cool.
Although I have also looked at the Belkin Nostromo(TM) SpeedPad n52 from http://belkin.com/

They also have a video of a penguin and any fool knows that penguins are licenced under the GPL!
If NASA had know that there'd be this much trouble - they probably wouldn't have faked crashing a probe into a comet!
I spat boiling hot miso soup out of my nose when I read your post! ouch...
Too funny!
Just thinking about the bill - it could do wonders for Sith/Jedi relations!
I for one welcome our new Zombie Dog Overlords!

Chip: "I'm sorry Dave, you are incapacitated by alcahol, I can not let you do that"
Dave: "Chip, move my F*(#!NG arm forwards and pick up my B33R"
Chip: "I am so much more capable than you are of supervising the body."
