i guess it is a classic platformer. if you're not into those, then it may not be a classic to you. both EJ1 and EJ2 had some of the most bizarre enemies and silly weapons how can it not be considered a classic? hell, the instruction manual for EJ2 should be on display at the smithsonian.
pdf's are editable. not just through adobe's software, but 3rd party apps like pitstop. and personally, i have edited dozens of pdf forms. by the way, nearly all documents are printable. pdf's are great because they print the same no matter what app created it or what app you are viewing it in. (for the most part anyway) i agree that unipage is not a pdf replacement, though. i hope the text editors out there allow for a "save as unicode" option, as that may allow for a little more competition against word.

(i still play the lynx sometimes... i know, i know...) i am always looking for that hidden gem of a game or some advanced feature the other guys hadn't thought about just to expand my horizons.

i agree. i can get around with no problems in osx and windows, but i get stuck when performing mundane tasks like trying to download and install an application in linux. in windows/osx its a matter of download, uncompress, double click the binary. voila. if something like this trips up a quasi-advanced computer user like me, imagine what grandma and grandpa would do in that scenario?
linux is almost there. the installation is easy, and the apps that come with distros like ubuntu nearly cover the gamut. but it still needs the UI polish that MS and Apple put into their systems. once that gets the attention it needs, the *nixes will be more viable alternatives.
i use a mac because it just works. if i could get that out of a free *NIX distro, i'd jump ship in a hurry.

i am all for flair in an os, and i think as graphics get better, so should the cool effects. we are using computers, for pete's sake! they are supposed to look cool! and all the bubbly options on my mac that waste screen real estate are easily toggled off.
and, i distinctly remember linux distros for PPC (I think LinuxPPC, actually) that had the most ridiculously cool watery window reflection visual that devoured RAM and did nothing useful except entertain me. maybe that is more of a gnome or kde thing than linux per se, but you get the point. as long as you can turn them off, i am pro-them. if you have the resources, why not?
besides, this new agreement won't do much. there will be someone else in linux-land who will make an alternative to this new scheme and neither will end up the standard, and the whole linux platform will remain pretty much the same as it is now.
install it, then you can telnet into the ipod from your computer at home if you want to type.
on the go, it really is similar to the ipod interface, aside from the small, notcieable ideosyncrosies, it almost doesn't even feel like linux. ipod linux is one of the cooler things i've done with my ipod.
i'm not a huge linux fan, but this is one of the coolest applications of linux i have seen.

and abi word isn't ready yet. i like their UI better, but it slaughters ms word files when you open them.
