Precisely. This same sort of thing happened to everybody at a rock concert recently. It was out in a rural area of Massachusetts where it's mostly college kids (thus, not everybody even has a cellphone) and when it came time to leave, only a limited number of people could get a call through, because the tower(s?) were unable to handle it all.
It would've been more on topic if you were a follower of

Is it just me, or does that pitcher of Bawls pills remind anyone else of Viagra? They had an ad campaign with the blue pills in glass containers, after all.
In the Abstract of the patent, there's two clear errors and two things of which I am not totally sure. Affect and effect seem to have been switched, twice, and there is a random period in the last sentence, not to mention it is redundant. Offending sentences below (emphasis added):
That is, if a character is prepared for the particular occurrence, the occurrence may have little or no affect on the character's sanity level. As the character's sanity level decreases, game play is effected such as by controlling game effects, audio effects, creating hallucinations and the like. In this context. the same game can be played differently each time it is played.
Personally I always say it lih-nuks. Or for a more pronunciated guide, replace the U with a schwa, and make the i short. My dad used to always say it li-nuks, with a long i.
I agree about the last statement. As part of a class I was taking in high school, we took the A+ certification, and CompTIA (the company behind it) screwed up my name, and treated me like NStar (an abysmal power company) does when I tried to fix it: poorly written demands for additional verification that I couldn't provide ("please fax a copy of your driver's license" but I had neither a driver's license nor a fax machine) and not even sending me the certification with the right name on it (that would cost me another $15, so I didn't bother).
Now, for a high school student, I think that the certification makes sense, because most people will just disregard any teenager as uneducated and inexperienced. The inexperience is, of course, still an issue, but with a certification, a teenager can prove that he's actually got the know-how to do the job, and there's a lot less of a risk in hiring him.
As mentioned elsewhere in related discussions, the melting of floating ice in water won't affect the surface level, because, as you may notice, floating ice isn't totally submerged.
Otherwise, you're totally correct, despite the fact that as the sibling points out, its usually more logical to speak about the density, as opposed to the volume (because, after all, the way you stated it, one isn't constrained to have the same mass in the water and ice samples).
I should suggest the same for you. Part of being able to communicate in English is being able to understand even when minor mistakes are made. So stop being an asshole and practice what you preach.
Nearly any new phone has a SIM card, and if you try to change your plan at a store, they'll make you upgrade to a phone that uses GSM (thus one that has a SIM card). This is at least the case with Cingular.
Considering that less geek blogging probably doesn't diminish to the steady rise in teen blogging, I think there'll be even more of it, in terms of sheer number.
Mars atmospheric entry won't be as big a heat problem as earth entry, because of how thin the atmosphere there is. If the plastic was resistant enough for that (which it's still probably not) then they could simply re-enter earth in something else, and leave the spacecraft in orbit, ready for another mission perhaps.
The original poster separated cost and risk into separate categories. Thus we can assume that the grandparent (to this post) was following the same guidline, and illustrating that the only obstacle was the cost, not the risk.
Actually, that feature exists in Windows, just not in the OS itself. MS Office will enable the same style of foreign letter writing, and symbols like the Euro... but not cents, oddly enough.

Obviously if you had $1 for every person who wanted Ogg you'd go broke. They were getting over $200 from the people who wanted Ogg, and still went broke.
Celeron is almost certainly related to the Latin stem having to do with speed: Celer. That makes perfect sense from a marketing perspective, look, its fast (but doesn't crunch as well... we'll gloss that over). Centrino I couldn't tell you, but almost certainly stems in something. Pentium, for those who didn't know, comes from Latin 5, since it followed the 486. Why the Pentium 3 wasn't the Septium is beyond me, I think that sounds catchier =P
2.26 GHz and 512 MB of slow RAM, and I never had any issues with Windows. Its running Gentoo now, so maybe service pack 2 screwed things up. That, or as the sibling suggests, get rid of your spyware.
Of course, Kramer also does things like covering himself in butter, and falling asleep in a hot tub, and installing a garbage disposal in his shower so he can spend more time there, so I wouldn't take all of his advice. =P

Affect is occasionally a noun, but it isn't used like that. The phrase "Have an affect on" is quite wrong.
As for effected, its true that it can be a verb, but the fact that it is followed by "such as" means it's still wrong.

Its about word usage, not spelling or grammar. =P

Thank God I just missed the S the first time I read that.

You'd be right, except for the fact that we're talking about just the Arctic, not the Antarctic or Greenland. In the Arctic, the ice is in the ocean.

Homocide encompasses murder and manslaughter. Murder is with intent, manslaughter without.

Aspirin's toxicity may be all well and good, but you never want to take it for cuts, scrapes, and the like, since it reduces blood clotting.
Yes I've been getting this too. I assume they found that Slashdot was getting on, and decided to stop allowing connections.

Hexus articles have taken to becoming incredibly poor grammar-wise... And "Defora Core"? Please!
Other than that, those sources are great for getting more of the picture, though its nothing really new.
