  1. Re:There are Christians and there are "Christians" on Christian Churches Celebrate Darwin's Birthday · · Score: 1
Yes, they are. The definition of Christian would be one who follows Christ. Jesus said that he did not come to abolish the law and the prophets but to fulfill them. He did nothing but support the idea that He (as God) was there in the beginning. For as John said, In the beginning was the Word, and the word was God, and the Word was with God.

The problem is that the entire Bible hinges on the fact that God used 6 literal days to create the earth. Any other view than this destroys the foundations of the Bible, and the rest of our belief. And it is because of that that true Christians must reject the idea of evolution.

  2. There are Christians and there are "Christians" on Christian Churches Celebrate Darwin's Birthday · · Score: 1

The thing they forgot to point out, is that this is not the view of the Christian church at large. There are "Christians" in name, and there are Christians in practice. Just because a bunch of "Christians" claim that Darwin's theories (because they are no more than that) are compatible with Christianity does not mean that they are. I would have to say that most Bible believing Christians totally disagree with Darwin's views. Hey, let's be frank, it takes just as much faith to believe in the fact that evolution exists as it does to believe that God created the world. Now, when Magneto, Wolverine and Jean Gray show up, let me know, 'cause that would put a big monkey wrench in the works. But until then, I challenge you, show me one case where a mutation added any information to a gene pool.

The other thing most people don't realize is, is that the FBI cannot even investigate a case unless it is a federal crime. So, if the FBI showed up accusing me of stealing from a store down the road and requested I open my house. I could not only deny them entrance, but I could also inform them that even if I did break into the store down the road, it is not a federal crime and so they cannot even investigate it.

I heard of a guy who did that. This guy was protesting Clinton comming to WI with some guy from China. And he was holding a sign, next the road the president was comming down, that said somthing to the effect of "Go back to China you commie". He was stopped by a FBI agent who instructed him to leave the area due to security reasons. He looked at the agent's badge and replied, "This is a public sidewalk, and you are a federal agent. Federal agents have no jurisdiction (sp?) on city owned property". The agent left the guy alone. There was nothing else he could do unless the man commited a federal crime.

I have yet to hear anyone up north make a bad comment about how the minority groups work, intellegence, etc. Then I moved to the south. What a switch. It's not quite so bad here in east Texas, but South-East US, it really bad when it commes to racism. If it's anywhere from name calling to out right hate it's totally different. One thing I heard a preacher say the other day that really hit my heart. Sure we may not like racism, and we may not have "colored" busses and restrooms anymore, but what more are we doing? Sure most of use whites on this forum may not hold any mallice to the blacks, but why is it that most blacks are still in the poverty level? You could say that it is part of their choice. Drugs, etc. But I say what are we doing to help them out? In essence we are still a very racist country, but our sin is not a sin of commission but of omission. It's not what we do, but what we don't do. That being said. If I was hiring jobs, skin color doesn't matter. Confidence and knowledge is everything.

Does this mean better FP or integer math? or does it simply mean that it can shove data through faster. Not because they followed (or didn't) the classic spiderman story, but because the character seems so much like us. Superman has always (and will always) be a stupid story, why? Because he's perfect. But with Spiderman, we see that Parker must go through the same thoughts and struggles that we all go through. Sure, it's different than the books, but could it be the books that have the trashy plot?

This comming from a guy who never read the comics. If they director can make it look beleiveable and have a story, it will rock. That's what the other movies had. A great storyline.

As far as the Sandman thing goes, aleph.com says that spiderman and sandman were allies. What if they make it so that you have a Spiderman & Sandman vs. Hobgoblin & Venom?

Another thing I always wanted to see in these movies is have a villian come out of nowhere, trash the city a bit, and then have Spiderman come in and beat the snot out of him in 5 minutes flat. And have all that as the opening of the movie. Why do the battles have to last for 10 minutes with Spiderman almost dieing each time. If he's smart at all, he should have way more experience at the whole superpower thing by now.

    Anyway, that's my two cents.
