most people who critisize this article are spoonfed MCSE's who really 'tinker' with the idea of a non-microsoft OS, rather than take the time to actually learn to use it (properly), or reap the rewards it can offer (when properly used).
But that's a good thing too me, I can just laugh at them when their customers come to me instead. =)
I think it's more likely you were compromised by lack of hardened network application configurations.
Don't blame linux for that, blame yourself! =p

they obviously lack logic if they volunteer for a 'scientific' study, and willingly consume a man-made chemical toxin in the deceptive form of a 'harmless' (legal) pharmaceutical product.
The chemicals inside that product, and most other pharmacy products (under or over the counter), are far worse for you then they are good for you.
Things like the suppression of Marijuana, and the propaganda behind it all, are thanks to pharmaceutical companies who make far more money developing chemical products (using research funded w/ our tax dollars), and selling them to the illogical mass.
I've lived in California my whole life, and never heard of this 'disposal fee', and have never been charged for such a thing.
However, I think it would be pointless to have the manufacturers (like dell, alienware, etc) pay for this, seeing as you can simply build your own from components.
I'd rather see a state-run consumer electronics displosal/recycling initiative, in order to seperate electronics from normal food/trash.
I made more money doing independent contracting, utilizing open source technologies to build web applications, for my own client-base, than I did working in a.NET sweatshop w/ 'benefits'.
"Each of these is a flashget clone with less features but a better price , flashget turned to adware to compete."
So the real problem here, is their lack of a unique business model, poor marketing, and their ability to stand their ground in their market by resorting to evil marketing tactics (ie: embeding spyware).
You can't blame that on Open Source!
From a developer's stand-point, open source software & programming technologies are much less restrictive to work with, but it really comes down to personal preference.
I've worked with ASP/VB.NET, C#, Java, etc, but I find C, PERL, PHP, and QT to be much more stable, secure, and flexible. (Of coarse this can be described as a Windows vs. Linux preference as well)
when my ex-girlfriend put my pic up there in a ad for a gay adult entertainment resume. LOL
I thought it was rather funny actually, but don't tell her that!
Having an encryption program on your computer is NOT illegal.
Utilizing that encryption program to encrypt 'illegal' data, or to use encrypted data for illegal purposes, IS illegal.
Unfortunatly, we leave our fate up to our peers (jurors), most of which would not understand the difference in this case, and would easily surcome to the evil intentions of the prosecution. =(
similar to the mexican jumping bean, but a bit geekier.
It will be nice to be able to program my own robots, especially if they're sexbots. =)
I didn't think they would even have computers, much less internet access.
*doh* =p
I'm so over google anyhow, that site is all hype.
Aside from the Satelitte Maps, I haven't seen anything that they do better than other search engines like yahoo, or clusty.
Although I wouldn't go as far as saying MSN or yahoo should be used, especially using IE, with all those wonderful exploits those sites serv daily. =/

So is redhat, even SuSE is better, but all-in-all, mainstream linux distros suck.
Use core, make your own. fuck'em all if they don't have a clue! =0
exactly.
It's kind of funny to watch google attempt to innovate, when in actuality, they are simply reinventing the wheel, again, and again, and again...
what does linux have to do with this?
You seem very confused!

I'm amazed that one still is not in place.
lol!
yea, that logo is hurtin', for certain!
you read too much fud, your signals are scrambled.
lol, yea, but at least it isn't making you dumber and dumber each time, like email does.
face it, my 22" CRT monitor puts your measily 17" lcd to shame, for around the same price even. f00z!
jesus, that's just rediculous! LOL

what a lamor, he should just face the fact that linux rocks, and these proprietary systems are all architecturally flawed to the point of FUBAR.
U.S. Laws are too black & white IMO.

oops...
yay!!
basically.
why not just build a spywarez'ed version of BT that sends data to RIAA/MPAA/BSA/etc.
similar to kazaa, hotline, etc.
