Don't feel to bad, the Australian voter is becoming just as apathetic as in the US. Not that many people seem to be too outraged by the fact that we have been completely lied to a number of times recently, and not just over the Iraq war. People seem to care more about the economy, which is to a certain extent out of control of the politicians, than any lies...

I read the New York times daily. It so clearly has a liberal bias. Every news story about Iraq tends to show the negative (the few positive ones seem to be forced and played down).

You consider yourself liberal do you? How the hell can you put a positive spin on the stories from Iraq, how about the truth, it is grotty little war that is not other. I am really very doubtful of people who call themselves liberals.

Over the past decade, my TV watching has slowly dwindled, mostly because of advertising and "product placement".--It's sad when you notice that most of the ads are actually more entertaining than the shows.

This doesn't make sense... you stopped watching because of advertising, but then point out that the ads are more entertaining than the shows. So you stopped watching because it became more entertaining???

I slowed my watching because most of TV is crap, but the truth is it probably always was crap, it just took me a while to figure this out for myself.
