I have to agree. I'm almost 48 years old and an X-Gen who had to compete for jobs in recessions from the get go. When I left school and Uni there was a recession, and as they say, it toughened a lot of X-Gen'ers up because they had to compete for work against each other and unemployed Baby Boomers who had experience etc. And yeah, I have to agree, it's always the 'economy' that is to blame for everything. I did see how bloated companies where in the 80's when I first started working. Very top heavy, I had three direct managers (and was the only worker) and about 15-16 managers all up counting the indirect ones (with a total of about 10 workers under them all) and then the redundancies started to happen, and the first three redundancies none of the mangers went, only the workers. Then I left the company (as it was ridiculous) and I heard after I left the penny finally dropped and they pretty much got rid of most of the managers. But, even since the 80's companies just seem to keep wanting to steam-line themselves and 'remaining competitive in todays economy' (even when it is good) is always the excuse given. A lot of the time though I suspect it is just managers trying to maintain their huge salaries with reduce or stagnant budgets.
Obviously a misspelling of A-stereo-naut... where they send two twins into space to stand slightly apart from each other so that everything happens on your 2D TV in 3D as you watch it. (You just need some red and blue glasses to view it).
It doesn't need to be terrorists, it just needs to be Islamic Fundamentalists (not affiliated with any terrorist group), who are severing the cable to stop porn from getting into Egypt.
3 When Adam had lived 130 years, he had a son in his own likeness, in his own image; and he named him Seth. 4 After Seth was born, Adam lived 800 years and had other sons and daughters.
The problem with that argument is that the first creation account goes into the order of what happened in each time period (because the word used isn't 'day' or 'days', as translated into English, but just means a period of time). The second creation account doesn't say God created the man on the first day, it doesn't list any days. Whenever it refers to anything that happens it talks in the past tense and uses 'had', for instance, it said God "had" planted a garden and then he places man in it. God "had" created the animals and brought them for the man to name. It doesn't claim the creation of the garden or the creation of the animals happened after the creation of man. They could well have occurred prior to the creation of man.
I would dare to say that anyone taking this person on would need to know their Bible extremely well and not fall into the trap of interpreting things which aren't actually said. They'd probably also have to know their Hebrew and not what they read in the English versions (translations), because there are differences, such as the translation of the word 'day' in the first creation account. The word means a period of time, and it is an unspecified period of time. So, someone walking into the court room thinking they will prove the account incorrect by the age of the Universe, and how long it would take for stars, earth, etc to form based on it being impossible to happen in 'six days' might find themselves trying to argue against the Hebrew which just places it in six periods of unspecified time.
When I was a Sys Admin (long time ago now Sheesh!) I was working 13 hour days with the occasional 23 or 24 hours day (usually following each other with an hours sleep in between). I was treated like crap. The managers used to tell people I was lazy and never did anything (which caused some of the other workers on occasion to abuse me and call me lazy). Then when I took a lesser position in another department for more money they had to replace me with four people. When one of them threatened to resign over the stress they gave him a huge pay rise.
So, YES, managers are the problem. (Aren't they always?)
Hearing this just tells me that everything has pretty much remained the same.
Young whipper snapper! I remember when it was only 6 billion years ago. I even had an argument with someone (long time ago) when I told them that the 6 billion was just the best estimate based on the facts and it could all change if they got more data, but they insisted 6 billion was a proven scientific fact and I was an idiot for not believing it.
Glad someone has finally agreed with what I've been saying for years, that countries/states should just move the hour forward and remain there in that time zone. I'm pretty lucky to live in a state which kept rejecting daylight savings, because it was just being pushed by politicians who wanted it for business. Our state is already half an hour further forward in time than it should be, so the benefits were minimal as it just meant we woke up in the dark and went to bed when it was still daylight.
Wondering if this is what happened to me the other day. My HD started to fill up unexpectedly, and it was at a greater speed than I was downloading. It went from over 500GB to about 200GB in 30 minutes. I was looking through all the different processes trying to figure out which one was causing the issue so that I could kill it. I ended up closing Safari down and the 500GB suddenly reappeared. At the time I figured it was a bug. Just makes me wonder if it is this bug.
I wouldn't mind robots on the battlefield as long as no humans were on the battlefield. If all wars end up being fought between robots, and no humans / animals involved etc, then I'm all for robots being on the battlefield. However, the cynic in me thinks once they get on the battlefield, they'll end up in the city streets and elsewhere that humans congregate.
Wil Wheaton ... is that you???
I guess the source will remain anonymous.
Pttthhh, I did it on a much smaller budget and got to see Paris, Rome and even Prague!!!!
Finally Google's nose is running.

Most hackers especially are careless, stupid, and usually both. ... they don't even take basic precautions.
Not true, many wear condoms on their fingers whilst typing so as not to get infected by a computer virus!
Life sucks! Nothing to see here, move along.
... and replace him with walkie talkies so as not to scare the children!
This week on American Dad ...
Sorry, how did the scientist get a girlfriend? You lost me there.
Finally I can get those specs I've always dreamed about! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/X-Ray_Specs_(novelty)

Chewbacca is replaced by a giant walkie talkie as he was deemed too violent.
I'll fly there in my google self driving car!!!! Woo hooo! *selects 'Sailors of the moon' mp3 on cars stereo system*
I call prior art. Most of my self made furniture falls apart after only a few uses!
But Dr Manhattan doesn't need to hitch a lift, he can get back on his own.

Thanks to global warming icebergs are no longer a threat! :-)
