I can't wait for Google maps to take over the same functionality common GPS software has in (reliably) highlighting restaurants, hotels, retail stores, and do it all by specific category (Italian restaraunts, or even 4-star Italian restaurants).
As it is, it seems Google just searches their cache of websites for addresses in which to show when you do a "Local Search", though I could be wrong.
Those people, along with any other that blames every little thing on GTA without taking the resposibility on other social issues needs to re-think their social values.
Fixed. Please don't confuse the ideals of the loudest with the ideals of the many.
Wow man. I feel sorry for your poor little daughter. Instead of Saturday morning cartoons she gets... US Socio-Economics 101.
But I completely agree that the President controls the media. I think Dharma and Greg perfectly represented the Clinton years.
When's the last time you saw DVD players being subsidied by media companies? Mobile phones cost hundreds more than you actually pay for them. Then only reason you see a 'sane' price is because you're signing contracts that bring the price down.
Overall the rig is downright fast. But there are a few things that are kinda iffy. Why would you choose a Zalman CNPS7000B AlCu when Thermalright makes a much better suited product in the XP-120. The extra $20 would go way further than the next bad choice where they opted for a Plextor PX-716SA when a better performing product can be had in the NEC ND-3540A for about a third the price. Although it doesn't make much of a difference, why even install a floppy? I have lived without one for two years now. The choice of hard drives is iffy in the performance situation but the Hitachis are a good drive.
Lastly to those saying that dual core should've been chosen just look at the benches from the FX-57 product launch. The extra 400mhz over the fastest dual cores gives a pretty healty performance boost in gaming. Since this is a top-notch gaming rig, the FX is the only real choice.
How is this modded "informative"? It's pure uninformed drivel. If you read any review with a power consumption test, you'd see their entire test benches use just over 190W under full load. Most other Athlon 64's are around 150.
When I used to live with my parents in Cincinnati, the local phone company Cincinnati Bell ran a DSL service called Zoomtown. It's now at 3mbps down / 768kbps up and I almost always get ABOVE rated transfers. Also the price is pretty low at $45/month and can be enveloped into a phone package to cost as low as $30/month. 4 dynamic IPs and 5 email accounts. I know they they give web space.
Now I live in an apartment for an internship and I get Comcast Digital Cable (paid for). The rated speeds are the same but the service is terrible. 1 dynamic IP so a router is required. I rarely get close to rated speeds and if we do manage it latency starts to suffer dramatically. I've always advocated DSL over Cable and this experience only reaffirms my belief. Not only that but their cable tv quality is shitty too.
It's not $450, it is however $150 and that still seems ridiculous.
I went to their site to see how "godly" their character are: they don't have any for WoW. Well, good luck with that, Gamepal...
I'm all for a high standard of living in India and elsewhere, but when my livelihood (or future livelihood in my case) is being threatened, do you expect me to sit here and cheer for the global economy? I expect American companies to keep most jobs in America. If that fails to happen, our legs will be chopped off where we stand.
The reason they made you run around is the same reason why Bliz won't let you skip a griffon ride in WoW: travel time eats up playtime. Players accomplish less on their time online and thus are more likely to play longer (I guess). To me the concept makes some sense in a devious way. But I would think that ultimately you'll have more people quit because of the annoyance.
For a site 50 years in the future, it sure does load slow. Good to see some things won't change.
On second thought, maybe it takes some time to pipe that data in the past 50 years...
I've seen a lot of retail employee bashing in this thread (and many like it over the years). First off, it isn't as bad as you all say it is. Second, not everyone in the world is as knowledgeable as you are. That doesn't mean they aren't "knowledgeable about anything". These aren't people working in the computer department because they can wax poetic about the advantages of a shorter instruction pipeline. They generally know enough to answer questions pertinent to the products intended use. How can you expect more?
Have you ever played any of their games before? This "disdain" has always been there, but not in the way you seem to see it. Their stance has always been to produce challenging games. When people raise their skill levels, Bliz will patch it to make the game tougher. Diablo2 is a prime example. It was really hard until the expansion. Then when the playerbase got good they released 1.10, hit every class with a nerf and buffed up monsters tremendously. I'm curious what support issues you had... was it loot?
Someone mod this asshole into oblivion. The concept of Easy Mode was invented by whiney low level hordes who thought they were the only ones getting ganked. If anything, horde is easy mode with your vastly overpowered racial abilities and completely useful hybrid class (shaman).
My theory has always been that you spend the most time interacting with you monitor, keyboard and mouse so why not get an exceptional product that meets all your needs in those area? What good is a $600 video card if you can't see the image or interact with them in a meaningful way?
While it sounds like a good enough solution, this would never fly in any multiplayer environment. The reason being is that this method will negate balance issues as well as skill/eqiupment differences. Imagine pouring a lot of time into a game to get good and get good items only to have the game reduce your effectiveness in an attempt at balance. I suppose if you set the boundaries to some narrow margin it could work, but I think that would be even trickier to nail down than the current system.
It's articles like this that support the belief that the Phantom is real.
Seriously though, when every company employee is merely treading water everytime they talk about the console, coupled with the fact that in it's current proposed specs its nowhere near competitive with next gen consoles you can't honestly expect them to finish the product. I mean when you have to spout bull like
last year we not only had Christmas but also a presidential election. So getting billboards and getting television ad space was very difficult to do last year
Please, for the sake of all those poor engineers who got suckered into working on this, just let the Phantom die in peace.

Again with the boxen!

Firingsquad imposes word requirements on your articles? I remember having to write 2,000 word essays in junior high. 32,000? That must suck.

I was thinking the same thing about the sensationalist morons who submit that kind of flavor text. "Could this be the end of..." Grow up.

"Well hello Mr. Nanopants."
Here I thought they caught the source of all the Counter-Strike hacking. Now those are the real hackers they should be targetting.
So this is how they framed OJ with all that DNA "evidence".
