the Mario Karts were targeted to the younger ones who wouldn't like the idea of losing the race with a mere touch of a bumper (certainly you've seen an actual race), thus the "Revenge is t3h M1NE!!1!"-type items. It is cheap, yes, but is hardly meant for purists.
Imagine a Beowulf Cluster of those carts--oh wait, they're Windows CE. At least PocketPC or XP embedded, if it must be Windows, but please, we've had teh CE for quite a while, there's got to be something above that for portables and contraptions like these by now...right?
I don't share Jon's love of crashing parties--and by parties I mean informative and even somewhat useful shows like Crossfire where they talk about real news (albeit from two extreme, different viewpoints). By comparison, the Daily Show's just been quite offensive (I saw a look at Iran's "demographic" (from the little I remember) there, which was mildly funny). Now they and CBS Evening's lead will be replaced by...*sigh* I'd Rather not think about it. Now the porn, yeah, that's pretty interesting in itself, but anyway...
(I played Super Smash TV once--not the same I'm sure, but while now primitive-looking, was fun and a bit scary, if only because of the "Running Man" sadistic game-show aspect of it.)
If you've been near Hunts Point you'd want wacky restrictions too. Having grown up there, it's hardly a lush resort town and it's had among the highest asthma rates in New York City. The factories and utter disrepair there are improving a bit but still don't help global warming. Of course, that's only a small place in a massive country and world...
Yes, indeed. We, of course cannot forget the online console titles like SOCOM II and--of course--Halo 2 also. They too have lots of replay value (SOCOM at least--haven't touched the Halos), which is precisely the problem if you want to prevent a suicidal spiral like Shawn's.
He'll put a positive spin on it, trying to look as "Communist" as possible in a sad attempt to fool us: "One job pulled from Europe is a tragedy; a million jobs pulled is an Innovation(TM)."
He definitely saw a benefit there, but now he will just concentrate on his new line of Office products.
His next Product: Microsoft(R) Strategy Re-Planner(TM).
(It will come bundled with Microsoft Defeat Downplay(TM) and a new version of Microsoft Company Acquirer(R). Acquirer's been around, thus the registered mark.)
It keeps people like me from RTFA...not that there aren't lots of people like me doing said RTFA'ing. So far, though, they can stay happy with their "server solution" (is this one of those corporate RPG games where everything is a solution?!?) as I read sans much trouble. Any/.ing didn't do permanent damage it seems.
(The about page)
I believe that you can notice it yourselves by the short time it takes to load X-bit's pages today.
Disagree here though--took me about 30 secs on 3MBit DSL to see the same about page that said that. Now I know what servers not to get for my site. Or Skype-ing for that matter.
TFA:
"pwn": A typo-deliberate version of own, a slang term that means to dominate. This could also be spelled "0\/\/n3d" or "pwn3d," among other variations. Online video game bullies or "griefers" often use this term.
At least they defined my favorite l33t w0rd. Otherwise TFA editors would have gotten spammed by me and t3h l33t p0l1c3!!1!
I haven't RTFMagazine but my rule of thumb is when it says "Save teh $50!!1!" and we don't see the price, the product costs 10 times more. Why not? you ask? Because, from what I've seen, promotional codes==magazine versions of spam and adware (with a bit more legality).
Video games/are/ violent. That's the whole fun:P I agree with Hal Haplin. They keep game ratings, it's illegal to sell, but not illegal to play underage. So what difference does it make?
I wholeheartedly agree. Lots of kids (and especially unruly teens) love to get stuff that friends tell them about, especially violent games. It's tough to keep a kid away from games--and language/sex/violence in general--because (mostly public, but almost all) schools tend to bring good kids and jerks together.
Which is why I left the "prestigious" Bronx High School of Science for a less honored school. The experience was horrendous at best (bullies, near-rampant smoking and the like), and keeping violent games from kids will never change that.
...unless they were using the money spent for time played to keep it running smoothly and cheater-free; I'm not a big MMOG player these days so I'm not quite keen on if it has an effect versus games that don't charge you for time played, like Counter-Strike or SOCOM II. That said, SOCOM II is teh utter sux in reliability.

That aside, I always loved the SNES original.
those PSones can still play Rage Racer I'll be happy. Mmmm, Reiko...(makes Homer Simpson gargling noise)
Since a googolplex is 10^(10^100)--one with a googol of zeros after--it'll be a rather...powerful statement.
(Very interestingly the googolplex is not recognized by the built-in Google calculator, which "knows" the googol.)Ok. (throws a final tomato at Capt. Hector's head as [s]he turns around ;) )

Because after his assertive Crossfire appearance they--and I--wonder what Jon "You're as big a dick on your show as you are on any show" Stewart will say and do next.

I'd buy that for far more than a dollar.

Less than 65% of people using IE to access w3schools for the first time in over a year, and the same year seeing a doubling in Firefox use there. (Not that such stats are always accurate or even useful, but that could explain the upcoming beta...)

How did you know I ate--uh, used crayons? I'm signing this cause they keep melting on my hand with this globular warning thingy.
(Ah'm George Dubya Bush, and I approve this message.)
...about online gaming, I fully agree.
Hello, my name is Stevie...*takes out napkin*and I'm addicted*sob*...to Slashdot posting...*cries madly*

Trust me, that's the problem. I, for one, do not welcome our cute purple Office Assistant-like adware overlords.

I also checked and Microsoft still has it. Works fine to me.
Where are teh Funny points? That was definitely not by a l4m3 d00dz0r. I think it's a d00z33 actually.

...I still prefer pressing the triangle arrow or pressing F5, thank you. Doing configure then make is a lot cheaper, though.

As usual, I'm left alone, with even the valid-XHTML-typing semi-nerdy* women taken. sigh...but I'll still type mine validly in her honor.
*said knowing I am far nerdier.
