Mozilla has not been able to verify its browser can crash and lead to a denial-of-service condition. The problem itself was a not security vulnerability but actually a flaw in the browser.
Most people, I think, don't even know what a rootkit is, so why should they care about it?
After
We share the concerns of consumers regarding these discs, and we are instituting a program that will allow consumers to exchange any CD with XCP software for the same CD without copy protection. We also have asked our retail partners to remove all unsold CDs with XCP software from their store shelves and inventory. Please click here for exchange program details.
We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause our customers and we are committed to making this situation right. It is important to note that the issues regarding these discs exist only when they are played on computers, not on conventional, non-computer-based CD and/or DVD players.
Actually I do a great deal of training and collecting data using Trimble and our resource grade is accurate to a meter and our survey grade has sub-centimeter accuracy. So a great deal less than 20 meters.
"Yeash, what are they teaching you kids these days?"
SCO: Sorry Judge, we have the proof, but see it's on a WinFS computer right now, and see we kinda need more time. Cuz well, the computer is really far away see, and I tried to put it on this usb stick, but the computers here, close by, can't read WinFS yet. See? So we are going to kinda have to postpone this thingy until Longhorn....errr, I mean MS releases the WinFS updates. But in the meantime, can we kinda change our arguments, then we can come back to this later?
I am a GIS professional and we went through something like this a while back at a County gov office I worked at. What data should be public and what shouldn't. Our policy was that the data was paid for by tax payers money so all data should be made publicly available at no cost, why charge the taxpayer twice for the same thing. The only exceptions were if there was a probable threat to the safety of an individual or the community. Which in our case the names and addresses of police officers, judges, etc.
Maybe the voters should be a little more vocal in Portland.
Isn't it funny that the apps that google owns requires a version of windows to run? How is google a supporter of open source when i use it, don't contribute to is, nor do they support open source OS's
News Flash, Washington State has just charged Windows for intentionally building a OS that allows Spyware to propagate, the FBI may need to step in as this allows the Spyware to spread across State Lines.
What do you mean a bug in Windows, next thing you know something is going to say they found a new vulnerability...I just don't believe the nerve of some people.
This is really stupid, but i seen it happen here where i live. There is a small locally owned business called T&C (Town and Country) that sells surf gear, boards, tshirts, shorts, etc. Well, Town and Country the furniture people got all bent out of shape b/c they owned the name and now this locally owned business is unable to use Town and Country in any way. These things just get way to out of hand. IMHO
yes, they have work to do, but they can go to plenty of public terminals at the school to do their work. What about the people without computers? The students need to learn some responsibility as do many adults. When people run unprotected computers it just doesn't affect them.

There must be something going on, i got 18 million spam emails in somehting like 20 days!!!
Not any random computer, but a random windows computer.
If Apple wants to be really shocking they should start supporting Linux. There is a growing market out there that they are just ignoring.
I thought the XP fiasco was kinda funny

(What? I don't understand)
Almost every GIS shop I have ever worked in has floor plans tied in to their data or were working on it.

People should send Microsoft a report of how much malicious traffic comes from computers running their OS.
Maybe MS doesn't want to build on the .Net framework b/c it is buggy and has been known to have vulnerabilities......Oh wait.....
I've been trying to go to my banks website since the email said to update my info....wonder why, maybe their head office is in Russia?? lol
