Is lack of video chat support through aim, or any other IM protocol. Also another long standing problem was an inability to actually transfer files under the AIM protocol, which finally seems to be fixed in the last 2 or 3 releases. That was driving me insane. Other than that I love it, and have converted lots of people to using gaim.
That I originally clicked on the story about the worlds most powerful laser, and right before it loaded I saw the words, babe, in the story right underneath, I immediately clicked back...*sigh*
Usenet? I dont think thats P2P, and your not sharing anything unless you opt to upload something. And besides who actually downloads the latest movies off of "kazaa" or one of those programs, the quality is typically terrible. Somehow I don't think this will truely effect the more techy of people.
imo
Its obvious to me this is a blatant attempt to advertise your comic strip. I doubt asking how to increase traffic was really the intent, more like getting your website on the front page.
I had no idea this was still on TV, and even if it was, what are the chances that the kids today will even know the cartoon characters in this video game. It seems to me their just running out of ideas.
Why doesnt the video game industry bring back adventure games, now thats the good stuff.
All these companies are all up in arms about genetically altered crops. But my question is does it taste any different? I bet that if no one said anything, nobody would even be able to tell the different. If genetically modifying rice allows the rice to grow better, and faster, then so be it, people are thirsty out there, and this can help. Actually after reading this, I could really go for a beer right now.
It makes me think of what the implications of such a discovery could be in the future. Just imagine what government types, or even interest groups could and probably would do if they could control other peoples motor reflexes, and even supress or bring out certain emotions that would make a certain cause easier to bring about.
It's sorta scary thinking about what someone with a lacking in morals might do if something like this were to get to such a point.
Wasn't there an article about mini-turbines also, that researchers were planning on using to power small devices, I'm wondering if these nano-motors could be used in the same regard. Maybe I should go RTFA now.
If he hadn't have signed it, i'm sure theres the all too real possibility of his companies lawyers sueing him. And i'm sure for something ridiculous also, like loss of profits, and then end up signing the NDA anyway. I think its a matter of what gives less of a headache.
Hopefully after this we all find out what happens to Gordon Freeman, and alex vance. I personally loved the game, and will definately be playing this one. But steam sucks, and I cant stand it
If I need to research a topic, i'll sometimes use this
www.netlibrary.com
Its a great resource, has over 41 thousand books, and a lot of the books are new, and recently published on a myriad of subjects. The only downfall is that you have to be a college student. otherwise you can only acccess the books that have been released into public domain. Which isnt bad either.
If your interested and in school, try logging in from your school library, and you can create a username and password, then once you get that, you can log in from anywhere.
I've been giving friends and family the login, and they love it.
Oh yea, and theres no Ad's
I've been running gentoo on a centrino laptop wonderfully. My only problem is roaming wireless support, It SUCKS. Whenever I change wireless networks, i Have to completely restart the network, and then select the network. Does anyone know a way around this, or some script or program..
They can patent an idea thats only been thought of, and that many many have mentioned before. It seems to me this is screaming eventual lawsuit. Plus this _sorta_ discourages any research being done into the topic by any outside influences aside sony. This is a stifle on innovation, no company is going to want to touch the idea, especially with the legal weight sony has.
Heres the patent for those who dont RTFA
"A non-invasive system and process for projecting sensory data onto the human neural cortex is provided. The system includes a primary transducer array and a secondary transducer array. The primary transducer array acts as a coherent signal source, and the secondary transducer array acts as a controllable diffraction pattern that focuses energy onto the neural cortex in a desired pattern. In addition, the pattern of energy is constructed such that each portion projected into the neural cortex may be individually pulsed at low frequency. This low frequency pulsing is formed by controlling the phase differences between the emitted energy of the elements of primary and secondary transducer arrays."
Well I guess i'll be using sony brand brain plugs to surf slashdot.
I started playing back in '95, I was bored and at a friends house and doing random searches for games on webcrawler.com and I stumbled across a mud (what i dont remember anymore) I rushed to get home so I can try it out, and proceeded to play for hours every day for the next 7 or 8 years! Theres always something new to do, and Muds are never hampered by what you can do like their graphical counterparts.. Your only limited by your imagination. My personal preference over the years was GodWars (http://www.mindcloud.com/) Does anyone know any good servers? and Realms of Despair (www.game.org)
Anyone interested in starting up to play, I would go check out Realms of Despair, and go download zmud over at www.zuggsoft.com..
I think the one thing everyone tends to overlook when the topic is regarding immigration is the fact that America was built on immigrants. Mexicans are some of the hardest working people i've ever met, and will go through anything for their family. More power to them for the fact that a group of kids with supposedly no future did this. Its unfortunate so many americans are raised to be lazy.
