    Due to dependencies in software, this will also require systemd-nvidiadriver to be loaded and running simultaneously, requiring one of each GPU to be installed. I can't wait for systemd-3dfx to be thrown in!

    Meh I had my parents laptop (1.3ghz Pentium M, 512mb ram, 40gb hdd) running vista ~fantastically~ with some really wild optimizations. I threw 8 on it for lulz and it ran fine with no tweaks, and better with tweaks.

    Tribes 2 was from a time before what i dub 'the flood'. Being the flood of console players and kids. To play any of those old games, you EARNED IT by dealing with PC's of the era. These days anybody can throw down 400 bucks and join right in, and that brings the horrible crowd that ruins EVERY MP GAME OUT CURRENTLY.

    There is no current US clearance that scopes any year of the 1980 decade. Even the CIA only goes back 10 or so years.

    Splitting upstream would be disastrous. (Desktop would lose the behemoth of code contributions from Redhat for the most part). Just leave it to the distro's to do the 'splitting'. EG Ubuntu Server vs Desktop

    I wouldn't go so far as to call vista dog-shit and then recommend 7 in the same breath.
    They're basically the same with 7 being the feature equivalent of a service pack.

    Vista isn't that bad, either.
    XP has stone-age memory management. (this is not a reference to the 4gb limit, but to how it actually MANAGES the 4gb)

    I dont know about you, but my laptop's battery life drops drasticly when the GPU is used, plus the CPU runs at 600 mhz all the time. So I seriously doubt a laptop will run vista good on battery power. But plug it in? Blazing.
